@wanderer16's visit to Spyderco HQ in Golden CO got me to thinking -- always a risky thing! . I may be making a trip to Taiwan in the not so distant future... time to see the in-laws, plus I haven't been out there in over 20 years! Does anyone know if the Spyderco facilities (there are two!) in Taiwan have associated factory stores? Especially the Taichung plant! I know I should just contact Spyderco HQ; I will; just wanted to see if any of y'all had info... L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Believe it or not..... I was going to dye it as I loved the shape and feel but hated the bumble bee look but I decided since I was going to dye it anyway I coloured it with a black sharpie. After I scrubbed it with soap and water and a brush trying to see if it would run or fade and it didn’t. What you see is the finished product of a simple sharpie and 15mins of time. WELL! We certainly can't accuse Sharpie of false advertising, can we?! Enjoy this knife for many years in good health! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Today I got the Spyderco UKPK Heinnie Haynes exclusive version. Some photos ... Red G10 handle scales (instead of black FRN) and bigger slipjoint back spring with extra screw for more tension. Steel CPM S30V (instead of CTS BD1). Beside the UK a perfect and legal to carry knife for Germany also. Some comparison photos Heinnie Haynes exclusive version / standard version ...
Anybody else ditch the clips on Spydercos? I came close to losing my beloved Persistence because of the clip. I replaced a Sebenza with the Persistence after losing it due to the clip also. I just took the clip off the Persistence after the scare. Now I remove the clip as soon as I get one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have pulled clips off a couple of Spydercos in my collection. These were either small enough that I preferred using a pocket dangler (e.g., Dragonfly) or more of the 'fancy' sort (e.g., a Pingo with Ti scales and anodized 'spider' on said scales; also a Chaparral with Ti scales) the 'fancy' Ti handled ones I more frequently carry in pocket in a leather slip case to reduce wear and tear and scuffing... Otherwise I actually like the wire clip much better than the bent metal Spyderco 'spoon' clip! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
+1 And it reminds me of the clip of the Lamy fountain pen I learned to write with The Spyderco 'spoon' clips I have replaced with the MXG Gear deep carry pocket clips already (Delica 4 and Paramilitary 2).
@dischu: who knows? Maybe that's where Spyderco got the idea! I like the idea of replacing the 'spoon' clips with deep carry clips. How hard is it to pull the spoon clips that have the integrated eyelet tunnel for the lanyard? L'chaim! Moshe ben David
UKPK with wire clip, Delica 4 (long clip) and Paramilitary 2 (short clip) with MXG Gear titanium deep carry clips. But I don´t have a Spyderco with spoon clip with lanyard hole.

Clip removal,,, all of my Para 3 knives have clip removed,,, much more comfortable in hand. I use a Victorinox soft nylon pouch to belt carry the Para 3. Tried if for a while with Delica however, a little easier to grab onto the clip when opening the little knife. Regards, FK
Nice! First version of a great knife. You should get a 4 now to see how it evolved over the years Gesendet von meinem SM-G950F mit Tapatalk
Yup. Quite literally the same thing happened to me. Saw the Smock in passing and thought, "Huh. That's interesting." and moved on. Recently a colleague and fellow knife enthusiast brought it up in conversation. Thus began my research and eventually my birthday present to myself. I have absolutely no regrets.
