Hi Ken, Can you please post some more pictures of your modified delica blade? Thanks Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
"Number One" The first Sage and my first Sage but certainly not the last. Now I'm eagerly awaits the arrival of the fifth iteration! / J
I've got a question for the Spyderians, I'd like to bronze my new Caly's clip. With "normal" clips that's always working very well with the heat gun and the tension didn't suffer on any clip. Can I do the same with the wire clip or would I get an expensive paper clip from such an action? Thanks in advance and btw, I really like that Caly, my first Spyder, but I had really had to break the edge on the choils' teeth to make it comfortable
I wouldn't take the risk since if it kills the heat treat there's not much beef in the Clip to give any tension. Have you tried Electrolyte anodizing? I somehow did that with VG-10(even though I think it actually is Ti oxide that has built up on the steel) Be careful, those spyders propagate like crazy but sharp edges are , sadly, always a problem with spydercos Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
Thank you for the advice. I really like the knife but round edges would be nicer on this one so I'll round the cf scales and already broke sharp edges. Did anyone here acid etch and stonewash such a laminated blade made of ZDP189 and 420J2 and what do you think about stonewashing a lockback generally? I would cover important areas, maybe the whole ricasso, with nail polish before etching anyways but I was concerned about the scratches at the lockback area. When it's not cleaned and well oled it's feeling gritty right away and I really like the smoothness of this knife (even though I prefer the ease of use of a liner lock). Maybe somebody could post a pic of a stonewashed ZDP189/420J2 blade, please?
Just got a Manix...great knife! For the past three days it has replaced he Strider in my pocket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
