You think Gnarly is pretty?
Nah.....Gnarly looks like 40 miles of bad road.
Hmmm.......let me guess? Pho? Maybe a banh mi or two? BTW, nice to see names to faces of some legendary members!
And you know how I love off roading!
hehe Nope! I had bún chả hà nội. Vermicelli with barbecued pork pork and fish paste balls, rice noodles, and plenty of veggies.
haha Throughout the day, it was so hard to call everyone by their real names!
Have no clue what any of that is but it all sounds delicious.
^ But but... I just explained it in English! Rice noodles (I don't know why I repeated it) with barbecued pork, fish paste balls, and lettuce/mint leaves/pickled radish & carrots on the side. DEEEEEELICIOUS!
You would not be the first person to call me KD7DVD to my face, nor any of my other nicknames. Because, "many are my nicknames in many lands...." (+1 for anyone getting the ref)
The house next to us is in a subsidized housing program, so we've had some colorful neighbors. (Not bad neighbors, just colorful). Fellow who once lived there was named Frank. I introduced myself after he moved in. Somehow, he decided my name was Henry. (If you don't know my first name already, google my handle. You'll find it. But it's definitely not Henry.) I just let him have it; too much trouble to deprogram and reprogram him.
Several years after he moved out, I ran into him at a nearby McDonald's. He came up to me trying to sell me stolen packages of AA cells. I said, "Hi, Frank, what's up?" and he stopped short. He looked at me carefully. "Oh, Henry," he said, "I didn't know it was you! How you been, man?" While he was saying this, he was hiding the AA cells he had started to sell me. He looked kind of embarrassed. I just ignored it and made small talk until he felt he could depart gracefully.
Still makes me giggle to this day
Lunch was great.
I do not know what my meal was called other than # 44 as I explained to the waiter.
I had the Vermicelli with shredded pork, shrimp paste, and eggroll.
It was a little bland so I ask permission to use some of moosh's Siracha sauce,
(I went ahead and grabbed it before she could say no) and lucky for me there was a bottle of teriyaki sauce already on the table.
But the best part of the dish was when I finally found the veggies and mint leaves in the bottom of the bowl.Yumm
hahaha! The fish sauce (there were two bowls of the stuff sitting out) was meant to be put in your bowl and everything mixed up! You looked at the fish sauce, as did Defuse, but neither of y'all used it. I figured y'all just didn't like fish sauce so I didn't say anything.
Shucks...I only used like two spoonfuls of one of them there "sauces"...it looked more like an oil or something
And when I did taste it...there was not much flavor...
Next time when I get another chance to sit next to you...I will take advantage of your knowledge and give you the third degree on everything on the table
^ Haha! Will do. I did see that you put the brown sauce stuff (there really is no name in that. It's just called "sauce.") in there as well as Sriracha.
When I have pho, it's always a big old glob of "sauce" and 12 drops of Sriracha.
^ I like making sriracha swirls.
But I don't put any sauces into my pho. The sauces go in a separate little sauce dish. The noodles and goodies get chopstick'ed and nicely swirled into the soup spoon. The spoon dips in to get a little soup. Chopsticks then get dipped into the "sauce" and sriracha and smeared onto the noodles. Then it gets eaten.
Yep! That's my process.
I never put sauces into my pho 'cause the soup doesn't have it's "true" flavor and the soup ends up diluting the flavor of the sriracha and "sauce" that should have otherwise been on the noodles.
Man I am craving some Pho now. Thanks guys!
We can go have some come the Custom Knife Show!
Well I always just assumed that your screen name was your call sign, but I had no idea you were Customs. I bet you had better drugs than anybody!
If only I could remember any of it...
Haven't had time to reply but just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to see tower and meet Belush2,
defuse kit, Mooshisho, and Rsxtacee.
Had a pretty good time at the gun show and got to try out some long term food and emergency rations that didn't make my taste buds curl sold by protective angel. Thanks defuse for introducing us to Mike and the guys. I am going to be placing an order with them soon of some of those emergency ration bars within the week.
I had a great time can't wait to see everyone at the Knife Show in a couple of weeks. We should make regular get-togethers I was thinking every other more or so because that was too fun.
i am so down for that. in the mean time i just might have to get some this weekend
