...and I just throw all of it into a zippered compartment on my backpack. There has got to be a better way. I've thought of putting it all in a Maxpedition organizer, but it's just not as, uh, sexy as I want it to be.

What do you all use for cable management? Everything gets tangled up when it's all thrust together, and it seems really unnecessarily heavy to put them in an organizer that's not built specifically for this sort of thing.

I yearn for perfect organization, people! Help me! ;D

I use velcro cable ties and then dump them into one of the Home Depot zipper bags folks on here use.

I do this aswell. My wife is a IT specialist and has rolls of the stuff. I take piece, and put a slit in it so I can pass the wire through it so that when its being used I don't have to worry about where it goes.

i have an old mesh pouch that came with a motherboard i purchased several years ago ... zippered up and when opened has about 10 separate small pockets inside it .. so i keep my wires bundled up separately with a reusable tie wrap on each one .. and a few USB - AC power adapters in there ... along with a set of headphones ... and it just drops into whatever bag i am packing my stuff up into ...

i have so many cables and such for my devices that i have about 5 to 10 spare cables and adapters so leave it packed up all the time...

+1 on the Home Depot storage bags. I have several of those and some microphone bags that I use to store all my adapters and cables. I also just got a Skooba Cable Stable which is similar to the Grid It. It is pretty cool, but so far is a little too bulky for the few items it can hold.

    I like those Grit Its.

I use a Maxped Cocoon pouch. I keep the av cables, the usb cable and the charger for my camera in one. Works like a charm.

I had the same problem. The Nite Ize ties are fantastic for this. Have a look at their website. The ties come in 3 different sizes from memory. Great for anything from earbuds, to power cables to paracord.

I use a small zippered case from COUNTYCOMM for my USB cables for my cellphone, Bluetooth headset, Charger pod, Ipod, and a spare 3.5 mm AUX cable. These all fit nicely inside and it stores inside my MAXPED JUMBO vertically next to the other things. Keeps it shape and is very inexpensive.
