Hi guys, The prices of some knives at SMKW seem much lower than Amazon. Can this site be recommended? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GTG they're a pretty reputable dealer. Amazon's prices on knives can be a little inflated at times. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
SMKW has a major operation in I believe Pigeon Forge. I have been there and they have I think three or four floors of knives. I have never seen more knives in one place in my life. I must have spent four hours looking at knives and I do not think I saw everything. The place is like Disney World for knife lovers.
Yes, they are a very, very well known knife dealer, and great people. I've been ordering knives from then since the 1980's, and I've never had a single issue with them. Great people!
I've ordered from them a couple of times. I also vote yes, they are reputable. I also vouch for their service - I found that a couple of knives I ordered just weren't what I wanted. Not quality issues; just didn't like them. No sweat with the returns. Also, if you're into traditionals, they are the folks behind Rough Rider knives IIRC. I have quite a few Rough Riders and I have been very happy with them. To me this speaks both for the manufacturer (in China) and for SMKW, for representing a solid brand. Am Yisrael Chai! I live a little over an hour from SMKW, so I’ve had quite a few opportunities to shop there (and spent my share of money!). I’ve always had good service. I can’t comment on mail order and shipping since I live close to the store. One of my go to retailers for several years now.
I stopped into SMKW in Sevierville TN last summer and the place is MASSIVE. Answered a long-standing question of mine about how they can afford to print and distribute costly catalogs...an almost entirely outdated practice. I view them in a different light after visiting their retail location and would NOT hesitate to patronize them either locally, or from across the country (I live in CA)
One of my favorite online dealers for knives. They are both reliable and usually pretty quick to ship as well. They have some really cool exclusive Swiss Army Knife scales, too.
I used to like that shop, was there on a visit to the Smokies decades ago (great area!) and bought a bunch of knives from them over the years. I was disappointed to find that they don't ship overseas or at least did not the last time I checked, I have moved around a lot. And all that business I sent them over the years didn't mean a thing.
