I wanted to ask if anyone has any recommendations for a small fixed blade with a a sub 3 inch blade that is budget friendly. I really want something I can carry on the weekends that is a change from my edc folding knives. In all realistically I'm feeding my obsession with sharp things. Please let me know if you all have any suggestions. Thanks.

Budget friendly can mean different things to different people for sure ;), but I've recently picked up the CRKT Minimalist bowie and liked it so much I bought a second. $20 USD at Lowe's, started EDC'ing in my bag, around the neck, and on the belt.

It fills the niche it was made for, for me, as I usually have a SAK of some sort as well as a folder in the other pocket. The edge was decent from the factory, I passed it on my arkansas stone a few times, stropped and called it good. Of course it's 5Cr, but for the price, I like the design and don't mind sharpening :).

Also, it's light and comfortable (again, to me) in the hand.

    My .02, YMMV.

    Cheers!

Do you actually have these? How do you like them; other comments? Even on Amazon there aren't really any user reviews on the fixed blade products from Sanrenmu...

Great suggestions so far. It seems like a good bit of options out there. I really like the izula I just worry about the steel type due to my location southeastern Louisiana doesn't get along well with 1095 and for some reason I can't stand a coating on a blade. The CR steels seem to do ok down here and I'm liking SRM models.

Did you place the micarta scales on yours? Do you have think it's something one could carry inside the waistband?

If only they made it in non-black stonewash blade with orange handle i'd so be over that.... I could buy two and make my own but that that point i might just as well buy the hornet f815.

I did put the micarta scales on it and I'm glad I did, it feels so much better in hand to me. If you get the right type of clip I guess you could carry it inside the waistband, I never tried.

I have the 7132 with G10 handle already and my next buy will be the 7130 as soon as the non-black version is on stock at one of my favorite dealers again.
It´s the typical Chinese 8Cr14Mov steel (or was it 8Cr13Mov?). I like it. No high-end steel but OK. Rust-free and easy to charpen.
Some say it´s a Esee Izula killer. I don´t know because I don´t have an Izula but since I have the Sanrenmu I don´t like to buy an Izula anymore ;)
There are some reviews on Youtube but nearly all of them in German language.

I'm looking for a small, multipurpose fixed blade that I "could" use well for sundry scenarios, i.e. defense, packages, survival, etc.

The Schrade SCHF57 is worth checking out. It's like 16 bucks on Amazon.

Please notice that it´s not the price and the color only. The hornet f815 is bigger (3.35" blade, 7.48" total) and got a better steel (14C28N).

In small price Cold steel super edge is hard to beat. The CRKT minimalist is very cool too.
