Very slow response now when changing from one forum to another and even viewing individual threads.
Here is what is going on. There was some archived old sites plus a small site I am hosting for someone else. Stuff that is no or low traffic but very very large.
There is a huge amount data to be moved. The disk is writing like crazy at the moment.
It's dragging right now for me again. Couldn't even open the page 10 minutes ago, ow it takes 0ver a minute to open a page and I don't have high hopes this post will go through on the first try. Hope the new server will correct this.

Jon, I'm no network/database administrator, but I've had quite a few who've worked for me. FWIW, we would never have kicked off a resource-intensive activity during peak/daylight hours. These kinds of things were reserved for late nights and weekends.
I hope that doesn't come off as condescending ... I'm just trying to be helpful.
I should have sent out a notice.
I might have not picked the best moment but I don't think it was the worst. When we look at forum activity it is only a little less busy at 3am USA central time than right now. We have so many members from Europe and Asia that the online count at late night is not much behind morning and noon in the USA, peak time is probably between 7-10 PM Central time USA.
Also my time this evening is booked up. I will start playing catchup on a lot of things then at 6PM I will start working on something else. I going to close my eyes for about 2 hours and then going to start a really long day so I am pretty booked up. I plan on things working from 4-5pm CST today until 10pm CST Friday.
New 24 hour forum log to see how the changes and new forum hold up.
I realize that the forum has an international reach and that there may not be a particularly good time to kick off resource-heavy administrative tasks.
Things seem to be rolling along nicely now.
About 10 minutes ago (7:30PM GMT) I couldn't get on and all of yesterday I couldn't get on. I understand yesterday had a reason though so that's fine, it's the first time that it hasn't worked for me, this is one of the fastest forums I've been on!
16:05 Central, extremely slow when clicking for a next page down in the pen threads.
still super slow and laggy, down on tapatalk for me 5:15 EST
