It would take a lot of R&D to what people actually use ahah.
Are you looking for a padfolio with space for pens and cards? A Knife? A MT? A Kitchen sink?
Kitchen sink would not work unless I could also pack water into it..
Nahh, what I really want is a simple notepad holder with attachment for holding pens (maybe 2 or 3), no zipper closure, that's bazonkas weird, I'd prefer either a velcro tab closure or maybe a button..
I guess what I'm looking for is a Saddle back leather notepad holder in wallet forgiving 1000D..Cheap and dirty, that's the name of the game when you have 5 mouths to feed, you know...more than once a week.
I would like to be able to slide a rite-n-the rain 3x5 memo pad in behind my VIC.(between the belt loop layer and MY compartment. At work I use a light, MT, and pen/pencil. It'd be great to have a place for the paper, too.
I planned on bringing it up when I'm ready to buy another
I am working on one called the "command post", A friend who works at GE turbines wants one for his phone, a 3x5 note pad, a sharpie/pen/ and a flashlight to check stuff.
Just give me a bit
SkinthCB (Command Post) I like it!
When you said "I am working on one...Just give me a bit", did you run back to the machine to put it together? How come when you said that I felt like pics were gonna' show up before the day is out?
Hah, my custom one has a pocket for 3"x5" Rite in the Rain notebook
Cool, maybe I won't have to be a bother and I'll just have him copy yours
I will post photos as soon as I get it so you can decide just how cool I am
What makes you think that hasn't already been decided upon?
Way to crush my ego!
You know, with some minor mods that could be made into a pretty cool Skinth for reporters and us photojournos.
Just curious, are you able to make gear with clear plastic windows on the front, like for an ID or a press pass? Nobody makes a good holder for the tall passes many sporting events issue.
Uh oh....another challange, sir. Will he accept it?
Uh-oh...better get in on the ground floor now. Soon may be an IPO, with all this interest/traffic.
Just don't farm the labor out to some really humid spot on our earth.
I am at the whole salers right now picking up supplies. I'll get some clear PVC and break away cord locks.
Also, hammer loops!
That would be perfect for me too! Payday wont come fast enough...
There, there.. I'm sorry...
(That better? )
I'll need some dimensions of the longer passes, the ones I used to get were about 3x5, that may have changed.
I want to call it.....The Stadium Ninja?
The Clark Kent. Mild mannered reporter by day, hero by night. lol
The ones I've got handy are about 3.25 x 6.25, but they're both from the same track. I'll have to look around and see if any of my others are different, and how the sizing is for sports I don't shoot. The sleeves I have for mine are about 7.5 x 4.5 and those must be a standard product so I can't imagine too many passes are bigger.
At this size, the product for these passes would have to be a standalone thing, they're too big for a Skinth I think. But the other kind of passes, the "hard card" type that are issued for the year or by papers, are credit-card sized and could easily be integrated, and the 3x5 type ones that tradeshows and some other events used might be able to as well.
One other feature a photog-oriented Skinth has to have is a huge belt loop to fit over a Think Tank or similar modular system belt. Best would be if the loop was actually a flap with some sort of secure velcro at the bottom, which is how all the pouches normally go on with these systems. Maybe it'd make sense to put a secondary loop for normal belts underneath the big velcro one.
