on a side note, even if they are out of Wingmans or Sidekicks, see if they have this set, marked down to $15 Well worth it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Take a dremel or a belt sander and remove a small amount of material off the back of the screw drivers and they will open all the way... There are two large washers that are left over when you remove the second handle, the tools inside, and the plier heads from the Sidekick... you place them like this.. pic below: The serrated blade is on the Wingman, not the Sidekick, unless I read this wrong...
I think ShadowE was referring to the tiny serrated blade that is in amongst the secondary tools on the Sidekick and not the main serrated blade on the outside of the Wingman. On the Wingman, that little serrated blade repaves the package opener that is on the Sidekick.
the small serrated blade (not the saw) on the bottle opener side, rather have the blister pack opener & scissors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for those washer detail pics. I ended up running out of time working on it so I just put it back together. Still am going to try it with one of these sidekicks, if nothing else just to carry it for a while to decide whether I want to get another wingman to do it to Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wouldn't, you will lose some tension on the tools, but I can see why people are doing that. If you want, I will pull apart out tomorrow to show you a side by side on how much to trim off. I stand corrected and I agree that is likely what he is referring to. I personally like that second blade for rubber hoses, etc.. I can't imagine many uses for that package opener beyond one or two.. then again, it is to each their own! I am actually ordering in a Wingman to do a scissors (no blade) only Tool for the fun of it..
I see the spring is still in those pics you just posted, so I assume by modifying the actual tools you don't have to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We are posting almost simultaneously so ok, but don't take yours apart, I can gauge how much needs to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Its a good scraper and pick, great pry bar, and pull hook. I use it for prying, pulling, shoving small to medium parts into place, fine positioning to line up bolt holes etc in hard to reach areas... Its also the greatest fuse puller I have ever had for the old glass tube fuses used in older vehicles.. Other than the pliers, that tool gets the most use on my Wingman, and I think I've never actually opened a package with it more than once to test it...
I have a plastic double ended fuse puller in my main work EDC for blade or glass...I think I'll stick with that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
