Nice, but if leatherman would sell it i would not buy it because: you have removed the reason why i carry an MT. The pliers, if i dont want a MT without good pliers i get a Swisschamp.

Yeah, but a swisschamp isn't this sleek:

And it doesn't lock. And it can't be modded with S30V!

Yeah thats true, but you wil get much more use out of an swisschamp in my opinion. you could also get an explorer or something.

But if i would buy a Sak as EDC it would be a Swisschamp i always choose tool selection above weight. I am not a minimalist but dont carry a LM surge either. Settled nice in the middle with LM wave.

Love my Wave that's for sure. I had a Wingman that was great for what it was, but I wanted heavier duty. Something like a ST 300 or similar was too much. Plus I just had to have outside blades as that's the most common thing I use. Wave works nicely.

Though if I knew what the heck I was doing I still live this single wing Wingman idea...

I tried the SAK route. But I found myself (even though I didn't think I used them often) saying "if only I had pliers". So yeah...

Having carried this mod each day since December 13th last year I can tell you that I will never own another Swiss Army Knife. I throw it in the dishwasher when it's dirty and lubricate it when it comes out clean. If you don't lubricate it from time to time you may find it binding some on opening, but I have the same issues with Swiss Army Knives due to pocket lint when you don't maintain them.. between the locking blade, all stainless construction, and the belt clip, I continue to be sold each day.

This is beautiful! I bought a Wingman when I started a new job about a month ago and I love the thing, but this is just awesome. I am new to multitools so this is the first Leatherman Mod that I have seen. It is now on my to do list!

I am also curious. Would love a spare Sidekick blade to put on mine.

For me this tool is a perfect compromise. I always have my IMO better pliers in my Vic spirit x in my bag anyway and I'm always in need of a Philips head screwdriver and a knife but rarely pliers while at work. It took me may be 15 minutes to do and is a lighter and more straight forward tool now.

I would keep an eye out on TxToolCrafters website and their Ebay store.. they sometimes make up batches of tools and have leftover blades and other parts that they sell.. I have seen Wingman parts before..

So I removed the blade on my single wing WM as I wanted to have it on me everywhere. My question is, are there any replacement tools that would work in the blades spot? The scissors were junk without the spring, and the fit was sloppy. Ideas?

My sidekick wingman mix mod. . I tried the wave scissors didn't like them so I have a set not in use. . Yes two can openers one I'm gonna reshape and use it as a package opener/cord cutter. Or just go a little nuts and make a small flat head screw driver

I have joined the ranks of you that have done the single wing mod. I am very pleased with it. I made a few changes to suit my purposes. I plan on posting some pics soon.

My question to those of you who have been doing mods such as these is do any of you have an extra side kick knife blade laying around that you don't mind parting with?

I am not a fan of the combo blade on the wingman and I was hoping to swap it out.

    Thanks.

Here are the pictures of mine.

Like the OP I added a pair of donor scissors. Mine came off of a blast. Also from the blast came the precision bit driver.

I moved the scissors to the locking side for better function. Everything folds in pretty nicely.
