Was going through some old boxes and found these gems - I think the very first Blackberry and a British Psion PDA... from the 90s. Great tools that I've used extensively. Popped some AA batts in and sure enough, they still work.

There have been a number of devices that have since come and gone, but these two were the first in the genre for me and have that sentimental value that makes them keepers.

I have an old Ipaq, Sony Minidisc player and an IBM Licensed black Palm VX around here somewhere - along with a Ipod Mini (4gb), a Canon 1Dmk1 and 350D
Oh and an old apple Emac from 2005 - 22kg - 1.42ghz - it is still in use though, as a music player in the shed.

I tend to keep most of my stuff, even when its Obsolete

My wife's old Palm III is my address book. Sony Walkman still works.

Don't have any pics to contribute, please don't beat me!

That said, went to a thrift store near work to kill time (arrived earlier than expected) and ran into a bunch of old electronics. Found a Gamecube for nine bucks, really wanted to buy it and gut it for a place to store EDC. The controller ports would've been power cord outs for electronics.

Have way too many projects just sitting around though, got to play catch up today.

EDIT: Dug something up. It is so old the back states "Made in USA" :p Usual disclaimer about crappy phone pic here.

How about an old Palm Tungston C? Works, but no power cord or stylus!
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Or even a real old Sharp Wizard OZ-9500? from the late 80's or early 90's. Still works very well!
    [IMG][IMG][IMG] took software cards!
[IMG]Amazing what you find in the bottom drawer under all those socks that don't fit.

Man, technology has sure come a long way. I see some familiar sights here, but after moving a few times the old stuff is gone. Wish I had a photo to share!

Here's some vintage audio electronics, Harman Kardon Receiver I bought back in 1980, some Carver equipment from the late '80's thru the mid '90's and some Vandersteen and Boston Acoustic speakers from the same era.

Or maybe a nice Soviet programmable desk calculator (uses 220 volt power!):

(pix from my excessively-geeky website, Chris Osburn's Calculating Instruments)

(side note: At one point there was an Arabic-language directory of websites that listed my site. When I translated it back into English, "calculating instruments" came out as "insidious devices"!)
