I'm obsessed with Patina on copper and Brass lights. I've been researching forced patina, that I may do something cool to my
    Mac Tri EDC Cu,

I found this image while researching and thought, it should be shared here as well. It's not my light(I wish it was)
It's Amazing! And the cool thing is, I bought my chic this same light for her B-day. So I have a platform to practice on.

Oops, I forgot my pirate speak. Sorry.

Oh good heavens...how great is that? I've been starting a copper collation of various items. They are all starting to patina, some faster than others. These pictures are truly inspirational. I hope County Comm comes out with another Cr123 copper, but I'm not holding out much hope. Man - that looks great. Thanks for sharing

Oh right, I almost forgot as well...

How did you go about protecting the lens during the gnarlification-process?

    Haha, thanks!!

Lights are pretty easy to play with. They have to seal well to achieve any respectable waterproof rating (IPX6, 8, etc). That and ones like this are fairly affordable ($30).

Honestly I just covered it in salt and ammonia for a few days covering the lens with a little Vaseline. Flipped a coin and got lucky it worked, then clearcoated it. ;)

Thanks for the pointers! Of course vaseline, brilliant!
Found a pair of similar lights with a similar pricetag and a high enough ipx rating, have me some fun later on :)

while I'm not sure what is the exact definition of patina. Ti won't oxidize but it gets grey ...maybe dirt? So does aluminum ....
