Still got to put a handle of some kind on this damascus blank These things are amazingly cheap on eBay and other sites. My only problem, as noted, is to come up with some kind of functional handle (other than paracord … nothing wrong with that, but I need to ‘upgrade’ from there). Oh, and then there’s the fact that you gotta make a sheath, too.
Whoever sharpens the knives at Busse, should be fired or moves to other duties. Other than that, great knife. Deep gouges in the bevel, sloppy as hell grind. Deep gouge near the tip as well. Once I fix the terrible grind with my stones, it'll be nice shiny and sharp. Originally came butterknife sharp.
I've had similar experiences. They're hit or miss. The whole cult around them is a bit annoying at times also. They do make great knives though. Some of my favorites for sure. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
I know what you mean, busse fans are... not my crowd. They make a great knife, but should lower their prices and hire a new guy to grind the edges.
I thought Busse were solid knife makers? Never owned one, though. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G973F met Tapatalk
Happens to the best of them, I guess. But for that kind of money you should get a decent edge. The last time I saw a factory edge like that was on an Ontario machete that cost next to nothing compared to a Busse. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G973F met Tapatalk
Nothing wrong with Buck. I've done a couple factory tours. Classics will always be great. A few Busse family knives. The only 4.... I really use... I probably carry 3 at a time. An old 119 my dad gave me. A 285 folder and a 284 folder. I have about 3 of each of the smaller ones because different colors are a thing. Lol. But I can't seem to get away from them. As much as I look into other knives I always find myself going back to them. They all get used daily too. I'm very much a "right size knife for the job" kind of guy. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Yep. I need one. Definitely need one. Or two. Maybe more? Got a link? That's a pretty one. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Usually carry a small fixed blade with the buck. 4 dollar wally world find but it does the job and holds an edge pretty well. Great for work where I know I'm gonna destroy it eventually. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
