I don't have many fixed blades besides kitchen knives. These 2 are mostly up to the task on the rare case I need a fixed knife

What terrible neglect. You can send that to me and I will ensure that it gets more frequent attention!

    Is that INFI steel?

It's just surface rust. That knife is a monster. I didn't go to the cabin last year so it was neglected but we'll make it right this summer.

It was a lemon. Removed some material, convexed it and now it cuts again.[IMG]

My tried and true Hawaii pig hunting knife. We'd use dogs to corner them and then it was you and the hog to see who won. Ate a ton of pig and poi living there.[IMG]

That is one hell of a knife. Downside for me would be the hollow grind and the recurve. And for a pig sticker I personally would like a better finger guard. But what do I know. I only hunt small game... What is the maker if you would be so kind?

I'm remaking this cleaver, the handle won't stay, I'm planning on making some micarta for it.
I haven't put any thought about how to carry it yet.
    Any suggestions?[IMG][IMG]

Depends on what you are planning to do with it. Kydex scout style is a good way of carrying it. But I like a nice leather dangler sheath as well. Tactical vs more relaxed...

We ALWAYS wore gloves when hunting both to protect from the hogs but also the dogs. They'd get pretty excited sometimes. It was made by a Japanese friend on the Big Island in Hilo who passed away in 2006. Cy Nakamura was his name.

For me the scout carry is reserved for a much smaller knife and even that gets hung up on things occasionally.
Hung vertically is preferred for this I think.
I think leather but kydex has its advantages.
