    Great collection so far DB!

I like the looks of the original Woodlore, but the price is ridiculous imo, and I'm way too impatient to wait that long on a knife. I have considered a Jacklore though, but then I found the Fiddlebacks & didn't look any further for a while.

The Arete is stunning though, nice score.

This is the first time I hear of that maker, I probably shouldn't but I'll have a look & check him out.

@inlikeflint56 I haven't been online a lot lately but I think I saw it in the other thread, loved both scandies!

Yay, is that a 12 incher? I have one of those (also with a black handle) in reservation for when they show up again @USAMadeBlades.

Nice Kephart fast, welcome to the forum!

Yep, a foot-long. While I have had several machetes, I've not owned any other "higher-end," but it would be hard to imagine any more comfortable than the FB 12". It's fun to swing and has a special feel to it. Not to mention that "ping."
I hear they are working on them and also working on a new leather sheath.

I bought my first machete -just a cheap Coldsteel magnum kukri machete- last year but was surprised what a versatile tool it turned out to be, so now I want a nicer one that fits in my backpack & sort of matches my Bushboot & the 12" Fiddleback seems like the perfect choice for that.

I've never been all that handy with axes & a knife-shaped tool works perfect for splitting small firewood for my woodstove & bbq.

The Coldsteel does make that ping-sound too by the way, even when you pull it out of the sheath, haha.

I was thinking kydex initially but it would be nice if the next batch comes with a sheath, that might be worth the wait. Are they working with Heber on those?

I'm not sure who they are working with on the sheaths. I saw it posted somewhere that they are working on one. That's all I know.
I have a nice leather sheath for mine...I think Heber made, but I think I'd prefer kydex, also. I have been talking to Regalia Innovations about making up something for it. I need to get that rolling, his sale ends soon.

Yeah, Heber seems the go-to guy for leather Fiddleback machete sheaths, he does a great job on them too!. I still have an order open with him for a couple of sheaths but he didn't respond to my last pm and now my gold membership on BF ran out so I can't pm him anymore. I'll have to send him an email one of these days to see what's up with those, he still has my original Gränsfors Bruk sheath that he used for fitting so I'll have to get that back at least. It's been almost a year now I think

After giving it some more thought I think I'll stick with kydex for the machete too, even if it does come with a leather one as well. Please post some pics of both your sheaths if you do get one for yours!

Me too dawgfan76! That looks awesome, Kephart..?

It looks like it matches your Bushboot nicely as well, congrats [IMG]

I've just started exploring the Fiddleback Forge offerings and Wow do they look nice. The Kephart, Bushfinger, Bushcrafter all appeal to me. I've got some nice knives (Busse, Microtech etc) so just wanted to hear from some of you FF owners about your experiences with FF and your reviews opinions. Pics are always appreciated.

Awesome knives and maker. So far, I've got a Bushfinger and a Bushboot. There will likely be more. I really enjoy the burl woods.
