That's not too bad actually, here's the Gnome in hand for comparison.

As you can see it barely leaves room for two fingers where it looks like you can get almost 3 on the BLJ.

    Thanks for the pic [IMG]

I have not read anything about the origins of the BLJ, but it appears to be a specialty blade. Does anyone have any input?

Unless you'll live forever it will at one point, not sure if that's much consolation though

Yeah, I really don't have a need for a knife like that but I keep looking at it too.

Perhaps we should have Flint take his pictures down to avoid further temptation ;)

No, I got it with the Arete. Never really considered a Woodlore. I do have a custom bushcrafter made in UK, a Ben Orford Woodlander coming my way this week though.
I'll post up as soon as I get her.

Doublebarrel, did you force that patina on purpose or through use? How? It looks good!

It looks a little different now, but at the time of pic it is mostly forced patina.
I protected blade with Chapstick and only soaked spalted area with vinegar. I went another round but changed to fingernail polish to protect the blade. I let it soak too long and polish started to peel and vinegar made little channels in the paint, which in turn made the little swirly design.
