I got the idea from darknyght00. It is a $1.83 shipped refillable lighter that is tough, small and easy to use.

Just had to use some sandpaper

My wife's shopping philosophy, cited in another thread. It justifies any purchase: "There are needs, and then there are wants." :)

Your Wife is very right, and obviously a smart lady!

But then there is unemployment, and starvation, if we(I) indulge all wants...

OK, it's no secret I have a lighter problem... so these are my current favourite Zippos in EDC rotation:

    1. 1935 Replica, Polished Stainless Steel - 2011
    2. Texas Twister (gun metal plate) - 1999
    3. Brass Armor - 2012
    4. 1941 Replica Hammered Silver Plate - 2008
    5. Solid Copper - 2003

Generally used with butane inserts and all getting pocket time :D

    Nice [IMG]

How's the windproof-ness on them? Which one do you use? Z-Plus or Thunderbird? If you have both, which one is better?

    Thanks. [IMG]

I think they are the same to be honest - quality of both is certainly about the same.

I use a torch one for paracord type stuff and the soft flames for shmoking ;)
Soft flame compares to regular Zippo inserts, and the torches are obviously more windproof as they are teeny weeny pocket rockets :D

Wow, that "natural" patina develops pretty fast in your part of the world. :D

How did you create that patina? Some sort of acid?

Gun bluing. I was looking for different effects. I've since removed it.

A Sarome touch sensor butane lighter I've found on bay for 10$. This one runs with a battery (A23) and sparks if you just come in contact with the inner metal ring around the logo.
It puts a little smile on my face every time I start this thing. :D

That Ti one is crazy. I'd like to get a copper Zippo sometime.
