Are all of your brass trench lighters the same make? Trying to track down a source for a quality one...
got this new brass knuck
also got this top in the male today
The absolute highest quality one is the Douglass Field S lighter. Give us an idea of what you want to spend, please.
Not as much as the Douglas lighters seem to go for! Although they do look very nice. Probably $30-40 would be my max. They are cool for sure but I could be happy with a $20 Zippo.
OK, badclown, let's start from the other side of the price point, say, $30. For that amount you can get a surprisingly well made Chinese brass trench lighter replica. Here's the brass version:
I actually have a slightly different model of this lighter that has chrome and brass. Good hunting.
Just remembered that I had this one that was on the big online auction site, too:
Shockingly well made and about a third of the cost of the trench style lighter, above. At about 2" long I think it's too big and heavy for keychain carry, but otherwise it's pretty cool. I reviewed it on the lighter thread and this is what I wrote:
"Made in China, but what impressed me was the attention to detail that even includes an O-ring that is protected when the lighter cap is fully closed. Dang, there is even a screw so that the striker wheel can be replaced. About the only thing I don't like is that, due to the key ring, the lighter cannot be placed upright on a surface.
EDIT: Sino's post, below, where he takes you to his excellent review, reminded me that this bullet lighter I have also has an additional nice feature: a piece of copper wire that runs thru the wick giving it sturdiness."
Cheated a little bit. The tag is copper and the tritium fob is bronze, but everything else is brass
Is that a Firefly keychain? If so, where can I find one?
Its custom made. But, it just so happens that you can find it right here..
