    Boker Plus KTK Tag

According to the sales info: a high performance 440C stainless steel blade and lightweight titanium scale, the KTK can be conveniently and discreetly carried, with a closed length of just 2". The magnetic safety button allows easy, secure operation - simply push it down to release the blade into a secure open position, and again to unlock/close the blade. Comes complete with a durable neck chain with shackle. Blade length 1.75", overall length 3.75". Whatever ... I like it.

Does it have some sort of sheath? Looking at it seems to me even when closed the edge is exposed ?

You could just google "Boker Plus KTK Tag" to find this:

No sheath. And, you're correct: the edge is exposed. But, the way the blade is shaped makes it really hard to cut yourself, unless it is in the 'open' position. Also, the titanium dog tag portion is slightly larger than the blade, so the blade edge does not extend past the dog tag edge.

@Adahn and @Cobra 6 Actual: although I did not check it out on the Boker site, I was able to envision the blade when closed; the pic @Cobra 6 shows is pretty much what I thought. I accept the comment that the cutting edge since it is not at the edge of the 'dog tag' is less likely to result in cutting one's fingers; but for myself I'd not be comfortable with it. Obviously a real life example of 'YMMV'!

Well, the idea is not that new, the CRKT KISS comes to mind but there are others like that.

The blades always come with a chisel grind to make sure they lay flat on the single liner.

I never got anything like this because I don't trust it.
The blade must run very close to the liner which will scratch the flat side, the pivot is weak and it's not the most ergonomic design anyways.
If it must be thin then I'd still prefer 2 thin liners, even then the CRKT Chill (with liners and scales) is slim enough for my needs.

I totally understand @Moshe ben David. In fact, the best -- and safest -- dog tag tool with a blade, in my opinion, is the Burke TAD Edition one. The best non-bladed dog tag tool -- again, in my opinion -- is the PDW Prometheus Dog Tag Tool.

@Adahn and @Cobra 6 Actual : I'm not actually looking for nor planning on getting a dog tag tool. I was just commenting on what I was observing. Although I also thought that the Spyderco dog tag tools did not seem to be quite as 'risky' to my eye -- just didn't seem like a useful investment!

I have a Spyderco dogtag, quite discrete in black. Shame to coat the Ti though.

4", 3/4" diameter Titanium kuboton, or in my case pendant. Waiting on a few more Ti beads coming tomorrow and this is finished.
