When you say heat anodize i doubt we are talking about taking a torch to it. Did you use a heat gun? How do u get the color u want or is it something like you get what u get? I have a boker with all hardware heat colored with a heat gun but it all turned out a yellowish color that was cool but i was hoping for something else. Any help will be greatly appreciated

"Geez, dude, how many knives do you have, anyway?"

    "Um, I dunno, hold on..."

    "Dannggg..."

"Oh, wait, I forgot a couple."

    "So ... eight??!?"

    "Yeah."

"OK then." [edges toward the door]

    "Some people. So sensitive."

Haha! Sounds like me talking to a guy at a meeting last night....

Me: "Well, the 2 folders in my pockets, the SAK on my keychain, the 2 fixed blades in the bag, another folder in the comms pocket on the bag strap, the Leatherman SuperTool in the Skinth."

    Him: "...."

Me: "Wait, do you want to count the box cutter and the trauma shears, too?"

    Him: "<slow blink>"

Me: "Does the Xacto count once total or once for each blade I have for it."

Him: "ok, well, I gotta go..."

    ;)

Some people just don't get it. The other day I was talking with a friend of mine about using a knife as a defensive tool, a scintillating conversation, and I was discussing the various laws around the world in regards to knives. To give him an example, I took my CRKT Ripple out of my right pocket and explained why it would be illegal in the UK. Then I removed my Case Yellow CV Stockman from my watch pocket and explained why it was legal in the UK. I went on to do the same with my Vic Swisstool on my belt, my Vic Tinker in my back pocket, my Leatherman Wingman from my Backpack and my RAT 3 from there as well. I think he forgot the topic of conversation after the third knife. After all this, he asked, "Why do you have so many knives?" His eyes began to glaze over as I explained the various angles I had put on the terminating edges of the different knives, and how the design and structure of the knives lent them each to their own various tasks.
Some people just don't get it. But we do.:)

    Hi mate.

It was most defiantly heat anodised using a blow torch. I made sure that the scales were thoroughly degreased and then gradually heated it slowly changing the colours trough bronze to cobalt blue.
You can achieve different tones by first layering the bronze and then heating different sections until they change purple and then blue, blending it in as you go. It’s not very difficult but do make sure you have no oil, grease or finger prints on the scales as this will have a negative effect on the results. Just remember that Ti will go from light bronze-dark bronze-purple-light blue-deep blue and this way you can kind of predict the outcome of the anodising.

Your Boker hardware was most likely steel, which will go bronze. Titanium will give you the colours you see on the knife.

Failing that, you could get someone to electro anodise a knife with more consistent results.

I love this! I have a Brian Tighe that he anodized and it looks terrible. I've often thought about stripping it and redoing with heat or electric ano. Yours looks so good, I really want to do it now.
