My uncle passed away this summer and he was an avid gun collector. I also found he collected a few knives. This is one that no one was interested in so I grabbed it. The. Blade is stamped Gwaltney and a little researched showed he made knives from old saw mill blades.
CQC-5!! (Just like a CQC-6, but at 90% scale) That's my xmas present...now I have to find something for Mrs. DVD....
Very, very nice Emerson sir Me thinkst that a knife gift of that nature deserves a return of precious stones in a rare metal setting...
My current favorite sharp things. I've got others in storage, various emergency kits, or in a non-user collection state, but these guys can accomplish anything I need to do in my day-to-day: EDC tasks, household/yard work, backpacking, camping, etc. Bark River Aurora 3V in red linen micarta w/ custom orange kydex Grizzly Outdoors (lefty) sheath, Kabar Becker BK-4 Machax, Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Northwoods Indian River Jack, Victorinox Climber Plus, Victorinox Outrider, Leatherman Wave, Wetterlings Large Hunting Axe, and a Sven Saw 21". All I really need.
I had no chance to check the book, yet. I know he's also writing for the MesserMagazin, though I (nearly) never check the author
The Aurora is a great knife, super comfy handle (like all BRKT's), and a very useful blade shape. The stock sheath is just okay, hence the custom kydex sheath. The 3V steel is a wonderful steel, very tough and easy to sharpen. BRKT's are super addictive -- I've got a couple of others and I've already got my eye on a Springbok and an Ultra-Lite Bushcrafter!
