This in today: Etlines, Damascus, horn scales. I guess I misread the description. When it said 2 3/4", I guess I thought that was the blade. But, no, that's the ENTIRE knife. When my father did something stupid, his favorite line was: "I feel not unlike a fool." Anyway, here's a few pics. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

You know, looking at their website, true enough it says so in the description, but I can't call you much of a fool even so. The proportions from the side definitely give the impression of a larger knife, doubly so when the perspective in their favorite photo angle, from the tip looking down the blade, help along the impression. The spine views come as something of a shock, to the point you almost start to wonder if there's photoshop involved. To be clear, I don't think the photos are altered, they're just such unusually proportioned knives they almost work like an optical illusion.

After the initial shock and self-deprecating comments, my first question was: Why? To call these miniatures would be much more apropos........I'm sure there's a use for the :censored:ing thing, just can't think THAT far out of the box....

How doe this beauty hold up to the Rat II? I see they are both in the same price range right now, made in the same plant in Taiwan using the same steel. Right off that pocket clip looks about as annoying as my Kershaw Blur and Kershaw Scallion clip.

Can't speak to the Rat II. What is it about the clip that you don't like? Just curious.........

it just doesn't seat low enough for my tastes I guess... I noticed on my Blur that when I sit or bend the knive rides out of my pocket by a few centimeters. My Scallion not so much because it's a smaller knife. That clip style is very tight on thicker pants (like the carhardt pants I normally wear). I've noticed that that clip style can be almost too good at retention, meaning hard to slip to the pocket, and equally as annoying to remove. Maybe I just got spoiled on deep ride clips.

I did have to work on it a bit to get the tension just right, but I do that to all knives. Very rare that it's just right, at least for me, right out of the box.

Yeah, outside candy-tin kits (which clearly they're not suited to given the thickness) I'm scratching my head too. I'm no rambo-knife fanatic, but there's a lower limit on what I can get a functional grip on.
