Well, this one isn't exactly EDC (at least not in most urban areas...) but it sure is pretty... Ranger Knives Custom - A2 blade, polished G10 handle. 1/4" thick blade makes for a nice, heavy knife...
If you're looking for a good folding saw, I can highly recommend the Bahco Laplander. When I was collecting cutting tools to carry in my 4 wheeling rig, I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the Laplander is the best out there. Here is a review.
Thanks! Yeah its a fun little knife...now if I could only refinish the area with all those abrasions by the cutting edge... I couldn't believe the price on this little guy, had to go for it!
I have the Buck Hartsook on order. It is one heck of a knife for $20. Everyone I have talked to loved theirs, but is there anyone who doesn't like it? How is the finish? GG
Hi all, Big brown truck just delivered the Tanto Sebenza today, it's definitely going to be my new edc for awhile ;D The fixed blade, one of the few I own is a Charles May "Holt Collier". Just got from Charlie a few weeks ago, the wait was almost unbearable. It turned out beautiful I think, the pictures really dont do Charlies work justice, I love the Green micarta scales, it also has white liners, D2 blade with hand rubbed satin finish. The sheath is very well made as well. Thanks for letting me share jryan
Thanks! and Yes, he sure does. Let me say this, I recieved this knife and liked it so much I immediately called Charlie and had him put my name back on his list for another knife. His work is outstanding and on top of that, he is one of the nicest guys to talk with. Heres his site: http://charlesmayknives.blademakers.com/ jryan
Thanks for the link. He has beautiful knives. How long was the wait to get yours from the time you ordered? I am adding the "Holt Collier Special" to my wish list. ;D
I ordered mine in late March early April I think, recieved it a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure what the wait time is now as Charlie is becoming more and more popular. You should email him and get on his list, this knife is outstanding, I ordered two originally, the other was a gift for my dad, it was "The Trace". It turned out just as nice as mine if not better, Charlie even upgraded the handle scales from Desert Ironwood to Exhibition Grade DI at no extra cost just because he knew I was giving it as a gift! I have the "Big Hand" on order now, I'm going with the EG DI as well for the handle scales. Cant wait to get that one as well. I love Charlies work Thanks jryan
Wow is it me, or are his knives really reasonably prices for being custom? I just emailed him about doin up a wharcliffe volant...never been into fixed bladed but this neck knife kick is starting to spread into bigger blades...somebody stop me!
Some moderately priced slipjoints. Never seems to attract unwanted attention either like the big "black" knives. Also gave me a chance to sample different styles without busting the bank.
