Making some small changes to my pocket EDC by shrinking the SAK and adding a Leatherman Squirt PS4...mostly for the lighter weight and the Leatherman pliers are a bit more useful than the SAK pliers I had been carrying. I thought about just trying the Leatherman without the SAK, but I tend to use the larger SAK blade for things I wouldn’t want to try to use the Small Leatherman blade for. Also prefer the SAK scissors which I use a lot and the magnifying glass for my aging eyes. The Squirt has improved pliers and wire cutters over the SAK, and retains at least a small file, so the combined tools have the primary tools I use most. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Forgot about this thread, here is a more recent pocket EDC picture The wallet is a broadsleather custom to hold a few cards, small rite in the rain notebook, space pen and Vic cadet + I slot the thrunite in between the pen and knife. Key fob is the keysmart rugged with the new deep carry pocket clip, klecker Griffen pocket tool, and a sim card tray tool. My standard handkerchief from epic hanks and a Timex MK1 steel.
Switched out the brass ruler for the fresnel lens magnifier/ruler which paper clips into the back cover of the pocket notebook along with a yearly calendar and goes unnoticed until needed. Yes, my technology dates to the age, modernly speaking Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Enjoy your (first?) PST. I'm usually spoiled for Leatherman choice and often gravitate back to edc a PST or PST II. The weight and compactness really appeal. Albeit, they sometimes need a little more careful use to get results compared with modern counterparts. On other occasions they win just as well if not better. That's just my complicated way of suggesting they are maybe sometimes underrated.
I agree, after looking the PST over, it’s a little jewel. Small with a great fit and finish…even after 30yrs. I know it has some limitations compared to the more modern tools, but it definitely also has some noticeable advantages (especially in regard to ease of carry and build quality). Oh and yes, it’s my first. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
