filling in hot glue in the cutout bridges the titanium gap. this way the brim of my jeans pants pocket won't catch anymore when i try to slide in\out the knife from\to the clipped position.
HA. ok, did you ever try the electrician zip in the Spider hole to open the blade as you pull the knife from you pocket? Didn't work so well for me... but...I'm not a mod guy...
Yes! It works amazingly well (although it is not pretty). Try playing with different sized zip tie square thingy mabobs. The first few we're too small and didn't catch the pocket well. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
i had the zip mod on my Ganzo knives for a couple of months, and at some point i didn't care for it any longer or grew tired of it, can't remember why. mabye because the zip knot started to tear the pocket fabric or because the automatic opening wasn't always applicable or convenient. one cannot be flexible with this opening method, if it should work as it should and be satisfying at the same time. in other words, the automatic opening works best (and is satisfying) only with certain body postures or circumstances. Was fun in the beginning though, and it definitely worked. on my current knife the automatic opening wouldn't work because of the clipping location (knife is clipped horizontal and at the top of the pants pocket, i.e. parallel/next to my belt) and because of the way how i slide out the knife, namely horizontally and slowly. and i enjoy thumb flicking the blade manually, that's the fun part.
I have always found it interesting that a popular, quality knife requires a zip tie to be functional. I do have one, and it has a zip tie on it. But I don’t carry it for a variety of reasons, one of which being the zip tie. What does it say about a company that makes great knives, but doesn’t address the need for a zip tie to be one-hand functional? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lost the clip on my Chinese TiLock, had to make one from a chunk of Ti, removed like 90% of the original material (it was thicker in the middle so I had to drill there) Next step, (re-) anodizing. Should the handle get an orange peel to match the clip?
I agree with @Tony Sal: no, I wouldn't attempt the orange peel on the knife handle! No need -- I like what you've got! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
