Literally a 1 minute mod but really cool! Just remove a clip from a uniball or similar pen and you have a clipped SAK![IMG]

I really like this... thingy. I'd really like to try that one a Ti folder but I wouldn't dare to do it without a professional jig with measurement (no idea what's the name or how to describe the tool at the moment when any second one of my sons can jump to the screen or, ah, whatever :p ).

It would be helpful if you could post pics showing how the clip is attached and explaining how you did it. I cannot picture it ...!

A little hard to undo, but its simple! you just take out the toothpick, take the clip off of the pen, and on the uniball pens you'll see the clip has teeth to grip the inside of the cap. then you just push it in the channel the toothpick was in :p

Rotary Table or turn table....for circular positioning....

Table having X and Y axis for straight line....

    Is that what you thinking?

Yes. It's easy to make those round marks but if the centers don't always have the same distance then it's looking like crap :p
Your sunburst is looking great, I wonder how that would look on a Sebenza or such but maybe it's better for the inside of the slabs...

Like they say-Great mind thinks alike! Jeweling is a great aid to enhance lubrication...on my latest GB2 obsession....it's pivot is already smoother than my Insingo...but I will jewel'ed the pivot for kicks....

As far as what you are thinking, a few of the more elite...Stan Wilson for example does that in whatever area for special effect and it is tasteful! One Pimper in the "Green" forum did that to an Emerson just last week on the inside of both slabs....Its your knife...do as you please, right?

The only thing I dislike about the non-locking Sanrenmu M1 is the tip-down clip.

Now I like it much more :)

Now the flower chopper is ready for the next season and the lanyard makes it even more comfortable to use it like a small machete ;)

Next time I'd ground away one clip hole, either make it unsymetrical or take away the middle hole, it's just way more difficult to get 3 holes at the correct place, on this one the clip's tip was expected to rest over scale screw in the middle...

Yeah! It's super easy and is actually holding up great. Just pop it on and it's ready to go

Good tip thanks, that's something that would come in handy.

    Cheers.

I've got a question for the group.

I bought a set of Benchmade 551-1 scales, stand offs and hardware. They are the new grey/blue G10 scales. I'm thinking of Rit dying them black with boiling water. Is there any reason this wouldn't work?

I've dyed G10 before without any trouble. My concern is that these scales are grey and blue G10 laminated together I'm assuming and there is hardware pressed into the scale. Would boiling water delaminate the two colors or expand the material enough to let the nuts fall out?

Anytime! Makes a great, cheap keychain dangler or discreet little knife! And I assume you could put it on larger SAK's too, so a good way to put a pocket clip on them!

It shouldn't hurt the G10, but the metal bits that are embedded might be an issue. You don't HAVE to boil RIT dye to make it dye G10, but it does help. Maybe just heat the dye but don't boil it. Otherwise, you could just use epoxy to put the metal stuff back in if they do come out.

Acid-minituff is now puny-orca, after a mishap at work.
The wife told me to just buy another one, IN THIS ECONOMY.
Never. The acid had to be imported from mother Russia.
