In any of the all digital G-Shocks, anyone have issues seeing the display with polarized glasses? I have not had the opportunity to look for myself yet.
No and yes. When I look at my watch normally everything is fine but if I turn my head to the side or turn the watch straight up w/ time displaying horizontal then it goes black. Basically you have to read your watch at a really weird angle to get it black.
Thanks for the reply, I was hoping at worse it was what you described. That I can live with but I will definitely take polarized glasses when I check them out.
Can you share the under side of your goodie, how did you manage to secure the watch face on the paracord?
The only difference between a positive or negative display....is a 90 degree rotation of the polarized internal screen. check out around 4:30.
So I may have given up on the idea of getting a Navigator series. The comments about the hands getting in the way of the digital displays seems like a pretty valid argument that I could see being annoying. That said I've moved on to another one I've had my eye on that doesn't have a compass or thermometer (two things that are kind of cool and fun but probably not something I would use a lot anyway) but is solar/atomic and I like the looks of, and the price is extremely reasonable considering the features it has. So, who has a GW7900B-1 and how do you like it? My understanding is that it's a rather large watch, which I'm pretty indifferent to. I pretty much except some bulk with a G Shock. I gravitate towards watches that have a wide band at the face, and I love the overall looks of this watch. I like the easy access buttons and the light button right on top, and the full auto EL backlight with afterglow. I could live without the moon phase and tide graphs as I live 1000 miles from the ocean. The only other thing I can think of is, is there a version of the DW-5600 family that is also atomic/solar/auto EL back light?
I could tell you....but then I'd have to kill you! I will try and get a picture up this weekend for you. It is not all that complicated, but you have to make sure the length of the band is correct before you weave it, otherwise you have to completely redo it, there is no adjustment. You simply have 4 straight strands going underneath the watch and through the pins, weave up one end of the strands starting at the clasp, run a 5th strand through the pins and finish the other side of the band towards the other clasp.
Hard to beat the simple GW 6900 for me. Have a Panerai & Froggie and always reach for this 90% of the time. Developed a hard use working relationship with the 6900 OCONUS. If it breaks 65.00 all in. Should sell the others. It's the Indian, not the Arrow.
The GWM5600 is exactly that. The GWM5610 is very similar as well, if you can't find the 5600. I like the 7900's, but the solar ones have the metal rivets that seem to pop out if you are not careful.
Well G-9000 is a standard model now. U can find this model anywhere u want. Even this coloration i just saw on casio.com i bout this one like 4 years ago and now they have even more colors.
They still have a couple of the purple accented ones at a mall near me... I should pick one up. I generally try and stick with solar ones, but that is such a cool looking watch!
I just Google it and i saw two G-9000 purple models. Whole purple with white and other model black with purple display and buttons
