Very upset. I hit the side of it on a doorway today (not very hard) and one of the "fake" screws popped out and rolled on the floor. Although I found the screw and it popped back in, I'm very disappointed in the quality now. I got the watch because I thought G-Shock watches are supposed to be durable. :(

Really wanting this watch, just unfortunately not in my affordable price range right now. Such a great watch from what I have read and saw.

You must have hit it at the right spot. I've had mine almost a year and never an issue. You are lucky you found the screw. I was going to put a dab of glue on mine, but I never got around to it. Other than that it's an awesome watch. I just wish the alarm was a little louder.

Pic of my first Gshock. Like many things about it but haven't learnt to love it. I know we all carry torches but that's no excuse for the rubbish light on it - the other one I looked at at twice the price had the same rubbish light too. Could do with a decent light and it would be pretty much unbeatable.

The 7900s with the metal screws are known to do that. From what I understand the plastic ones stay put a little better. The watch itself should be good to go, they are not essential to the structure or function of the watch at all.

My first G-Shock, had it a decade now, and it's had a hammering. Aside from wear on the strap its still brilliant... I had no need to replace it but...

...this arrived in the post, somehow!

Looks great for having endured ten years of sun exposure, knocks against door frames, and probably worse! Nice to see posts like this. Makes the rest of us G-Shock wearers happy with our selection of wristwatch.

First day I wore it I had my big fall off my mountain bike - somehow my wrist/watch hit the dirt first, hard. I had scars for years after, the watch? Immaculate!! I was also an officer in a secure facility, I wore that watch every shift for 7 years - during several hundred 'physical interventions' that Casio was battered off walls, doors, was yanked, grabbed and generally abused, it's still 100%. Its been surfing and worn in water rescue training and I still haven't broken it! that's why its replacement is very similar. I hope everyone is served as well as I have been by their G-shock.

New G Shock - loving the night time illumination. Dial glows clearly in the dark but touch the light button is transformed with green and blue highlights.

Compass and Thermometer are also pretty cool if a little gimicky.

Hey, I have the reversed display model (GW7900B-1), and really like the look with the rivets instead of the screws. How did you get the rivets?
    Thanks,

I got them from a german casio sparepart dealer.. You can find them om ebay too sometimes, but the are expensive! Google 'bezel decorative screw' and stuff like that with your model number :)

Thanks. I got a very blunt, rude response from G-Shock when I emailed them. At least this is a helpful response. Thanks!

My first G shock, and I love it, yes the light could be better. But it's still a great watch.

They don't seem to have the quality of customer service I'm used to with knife manufacturers. The response i got was basically a 'don't bother us' type of response. I hope nothing goes wrong with this watch- I can't see it going well....
