Impossible you haved heard of them: Laco is the only authentic pilotwatch manufacturer that is a reasonable pricerange. Others, way more expensive are IWC,Stowa and some others. I played lots of time with the idea to buy one. Still not pulled the trigger...

Well, your probably right. I have probably heard about them, checked them out even, but there are just so many brands and models, it's hard to keep track of them all. It bugs my mind really, that in this day and age where fewer and fewer seem to wear the classic type of watch, that there is enough consumers to keep all of these brands in business. Yes, I've heard that some of them are struggling, but not to the degree that I've would have imagined.

Sorry for the OT. Just had to vent my brain a little :)

Regarding Laco, it appears like they try very hard to not make watches sized for my hand :) I generally like watches in the 38-40mm range, but lug to lug and overall profile will influence on this. Do you know the lug to lug dimension of the 42mm pilot wtaches?

Mine has worn pretty well. 5 years in my bag. Heavy use while I'm on work trips, maybe 30 total days a year. I have warranteed twice to replace all tools. The "shell" is original.

Difficult to find a true pilot watch under 42, Steinhart, Tissel, etc. may make one but not certain. I owned this 42mm Laco for a few months before flipping it. Because of the thin bezel it, and most pilot watches, wears larger. This one is quartz but the fit and finish is very nice. This model can be found regularly under $200 and it's certainly worth the ~$150 I paid for it, Amazon IIRC. If you like the look, Laco is hard to beat. Even many of their autos are priced competitively.
