I agree! In fact that I'm starting to get a little inpatient waiting on my delivery of one. I just have to remind myself it's coming from the other end of the world.
got a couple quick questions....are those cogent industries clips comparable in size to nite-ize .5? that's what I'm currently using on my key set up, and I just got a python clip for my incoming shackle. Are they (the cogent) that much lighter/stronger/etc? would they fit into the smaller gamble made FM holes? do any of you think it comes down just to aesthetics? I do like the locking I'm considering picking up a three pack to put on my FM in the future, but at the pricepoint i'm very very skeptical. (although I change my mind all the time) I'm changing my key set up pretty drastically so what's one more thing? My big thing is I don't like a long keychain and I'm already adding on a swivel, so I'm really wondering if the cogents will be adding more. this rambling post was brought to you by too much pre-workout. Sorry guys.
If you are going into the Gamble Made you may want to consider the size of McGizmo clips thePlumbah uses. I can't remember the size but he has been tagged so he will be along shortly to respond with a pic of his Pangea Dangler setup.
The smallest I'll use is the #1. The #0 has gate failure too many times for me. The #3 is what I keep on keys that I need to take on and off a lot.
Thanks Plumbah That is why you are our favorite ModKitty. You may also be the only ModKitty, but you are still our favorite one.
Thank you Mr. Carruthers. Excellent Avatar as well. I appreciate the ruler in the pic as well. I think they look amazing, but I don't think they're the right fit for me. hey thePlumbah are those mcgizmo's better than the python clips in your opinion? Nice strong gates? I may pick up a few on your recommendation....
Better is a matter of opinion. Heres why I say that. The McGizmos work well and I've never had an issue with them, except for the #zero's, and the occasional one unclipping in my pocket when I have too much in there and try to squat down or something (and put pressure on my pocket). But I love them. On and off the rings again and never a problem for me. The Tec Accessorie Pythons, on the other hand, are also great, but for different reasons. One, they don't let go by themselves. Two, they are somewhat hard to take on and off ,so if thats important you may prefer McGizmos, because of their stron gate clip and the little "tooth" they have right at the ext point of the opening. NOTHING is gonna come off there unless you want it to. Also, that little tooth can get in the way of putting a clip through a small hole, which I find the McGizmo does well. All in all?...get both. Keychains will change. Change jobs, homes, locks, cars, etc, and you will need more. You will have them when you need them. I just changed up my work keys and am super glad right now that I had an extra Tec Accessies P-7 Suspension Clip and their little assortment of split rings. You'll be happier if you have some options when it comes time to put your "perfect" (<--<< thats funny!) keychain together. I find that I am on and off with diferent size split rings and I make different configurations until I get it right. I learned that lesson by ordering just what I thought I needed so many times that now I have a selection and I can adapt better than I can plan ahead. Also, save yourself some fingernail torture and get the split ring pliers. I am wishing I had a pair. Last night I installed and removed about a dozen split rings and clips/keys until I had a configuration that will last me two days.(I hate it because my new uniform pants have shallow pockets and am going to change it again) Good luck and please post pics of your "perfect" keychain set up so I can laugh and post... ...like I always do when teasing my friends
