There are so much FBs and,now that i'm out of university, so less to write. I just swapped the cardridge and cleaned the old FB.
I have the sneaking suspision that these are not the last Jinhao's that i bought,The 250 and the X750 looks good to me.

Transluent plastic ist not my favorite material for EDC items, especially for a classy thing like a FB.But seeing how the inks is wobbleing in the pen, makes me wanting something similar.its like the glasback of a mechanical watch, watching how it works must be cool.

I agree, it won't see hard use tho. Mostly will be office carry. For hard use stuff I'll fall back to traditional.

Somehow I keep looking at the TWSBI Eco. Black or white … or black … or white? Hmmmm … probably white. Let’s see. And the nib … medium or stub? I have a Pilot Parallel Pen with 2,4 mm nib, a Lamy joy with 1,9 mm nib, so an Eco with 1,1 mm nib would complement them nicely.
If I buy it I’ll probably wait until payment for december work comes in. :)

My vote for the Black TWSBI Eco,i,like it traditional. But if your a stromtrooper, signing a jobcontract with the empire, the white should be part of your gear.
I think my next Pen can be a Pilot MR2.Read good reviews about it,althougt the design is a bit to plain and modern for me.
Edit: Or a Nemosine Singularity or Demonstrator or Parker or... what comes my way at 20-30€

I already have a few black pens, so a white one would be a variety.

Yep, that's why demonstrator pens are my favorite. And for the record, the faceted design of the TWSBI 580 makes scratches less evident. The two I pocket carry (nearly) every day have held up well. Clipped right in my pocket next to whatever knife I'm carrying that day; no pen sleeves or anything. Used to ride next to my 4Sevens Preon Penlight too, before that got switched to my other pocket.

Yep, nearly everyday. Either one of two 580's or an Eco. Occasionally if I'm testing inks that stain, the Pilot Metropolitan makes it in the pocket.

    Proof: 580 next to a ZT 770

Aren't you afraid of a mess, when the pen breaks, without the protection of a cardridge?

sino2 I'm pretty confident the pen isn't going to break. At least not catastrophically enough to cause a huge mess with ink.

Also, TWSBI pen caps seal very well thanks to the rubber o-ring in the section, so I don't have to worry about it leaking from the cap if it gets jostled around.

Picked up three new Pilot Metropolitans this weekend. They all have fine points and are by far the best entry level nibs I have come across. Just make sure you get the CON-50 converter as Metros only come with the tiny squeeze converter.

Great pens.i have ordered the same black Pilot for myself too,as Christmas Present,But as the European MR Version which takes internation cartridges.I'm excited. Thought about something that looks more classic, but the Pilot have so much good reviews,it's the most rational beginners choise.

They are great writers and I'll be honest...... far better then the J.Herbin clear pen you were looking at. I have gone through 3 of the J.Herbin, one I made the mistake of converting to an eyedropper and was rewarded with a big inkstain on a favorite shirt. The nibs are nowhere close in smoothness to the Metro and they are pretty fragile as I have cracked the bodies in two of the three after only carrying them for a few days. If you're looking for an inexpensive EDC fountain look at Metros, Kaweco, or even Lamy before you get a Herbin.

I recently received a Cross Bailey from my co-workers. They noticed I typically hand jam notes. According to them I have fancy handwriting and should have a fancy pen. Fine with me.
Thus far it's enjoyable, on premium notepads it doesn't bleed through. I am curious to see how long the ink lasts. Thus far I've written 7 pages of notes/letters. Seems to be going strong. This is my first fountain pen.

I'm interested to learn more about them.
