So sadly the Faber-Castell I had added to my EDC developed a wicked crack in the plastic right where it joins the body. Took it back and replaced it with a new Lamy CP1. Little bit thinner then most fountains but bigger then my Parker Jotter. Only been using it for a day but really liking it.

I don't have a picture but I just inked up my new-to-me 1953 Eversharp Slim Ventura with DeAtramentis DC Supershow Blue.
It's the sterling silver version, came in a boxed set with a matching sterling 1.1 repeating mechanical pencil, 14K gold very smooth EF nib with a little spring to it, new in box, and I was able to find it for super cheap. It seems like it was partially inked up once, probably at the shop it was sold at back in '53, then put away and never used. I'm very happy with it :)

Sachsen, that's a good looking combo. I always tend to be impressed with Diamine inks (and Pilot pens).

I'm still carrying around a couple TWSBI 580's and Pilot Metros. I saw they're starting to get the anodized 580Al's in at Goulet. May have to pick one up, but I'm kind of holding out for a green one.

My brother dropped my Pilot capless at the family christmas meal, the right tine is at a ~30 degree angle :'( I'm going to try to straighten it again, wish me luck!

Sorry to hear that. Good luck fixing it, and if you can't then look on the bright side, a nib unit from Goulet costs much less than a new pen.

Thanks, I gave it a go and it's a tad scratchier but works at least. Unfortunately I'm in the UK so goulet isn't going to be cheaper for me. I've found a Japanese seller on one of the major sites who sells the less popular Capless colours at a serious discount, so I might pick up a whole new pen in a lovely mustard yellow colour - it's cheaper then an individual nib unit from what I can see and I can transfer the unit to my pretty blue shell :) Then again I might invest in a loop and have a more concerted attempt at this unit first.

I have the squeeze converter for my AL Sport. It works great. I had starting issues with the fine nib and gave the medium gold one a try. No problems with dry starting now. I use a Kaweco's blue paradise. Nice color and flows well. The aluminum scratches very easily. It is in my pocket every day with various other items. Cannot even read the label anymore.

I installed a Bock nib in size B in my TWSBI Micarta a few days ago. Kept the J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hématite, and discovered golden glitter in it. With the F nib I’ve never seen it on the paper. It looks similar to the 1670 Stormy Gray glitter. It’s visible in the ink bottle, but I didn’t pay enough attention.

It's my favourite green ink, nice shading and I use it a lot. Well worth adding to the collection!

I have the same setup. I started with the fine steel nib then went to the gold medium. That worked well but the line was just a tad too thick. Just moved to the gold fine nib and all is great again. I too am using Kaweco's Blue Paradise. Great EDC combo. Carrying a TWSBI Vac 700 with Liberty's Elysium as well!

I'm seriously considering buying a TWSBI 580 AL. What are your thoughts about that pen?

That’s a good question, because it’s on my wish list, too. ;)

I have and enjoy my 580AL. I think it looks sharp with the aluminum accents, and should hopefully alleviate the cracking issues that TWSBI has been battling since the beginning. Thinking about buying the new orange one in the future, but I REALLY liked the green one they teased on Facebook last year. You'll have a hard time finding a decent piston filler cheaper than what TWSBI offers, and I have 3 models at the moment with no issues to speak of.

That’s what makes it attractive for me: piston filler. I have two vintage piston ones that both leak to some extent. Pistons are cool, but I want them to work.
