I read this totally wrong! I thought you meant replace the pliers with shear heads!

Yes, 91mm Vic scissors practically drop in, just gotta make sure you devise a way to keep them retained. Andreas really mangled the liner lock and didn't make pretty, but it worked.

There is another mod done by another MT master, evil510, who not only added scissors, but made it a separate layer and made a hammer attachment to the Skele. Hes a custom airbrush painter so hes constantly opening pain cans.

It was actually by Eagle Scout here.
    http://edcforums.com/showthread.php/77875-Freestyle-CX-Knife-Blade-for-a-Wave

The pics aren't working though any more, and looking by the date, he might have copied Andreas aka Cptnodegard (he dropped in here for a couple of posts too)

Oh, I know about Evil510, That Skele is one of my all time favourites. Don't know if you saw this but he made his own pair of scissors for the Wave too.

And for everyone else, who doesn't know what we are talking about, check this thread, from start to finish. ;D

Either way, I saw Andreas mod and the way he mangled the liner lock made me cry a little bit.

I am well aware of the wave scissors :) I was going to make a short run of waterjet ones but enough interest so no go.

    You guys rock.

The damascus blade, did you make that yourself?

Are tools easy to replace on the Charge TTi?

DUDE, just saw those scissors. I almost never use the serrated edge on my Charge. I would be down for a large set of scissors!!

And, do you think it'd be possible to get a nice awl into the space the small scissors vacate?

I would be in for possibly 5 sets of the scissors, i.e. for my friends.

    .

    Metropolicity,

Your modded out MT's rock! I open on average 20 paint cans a day and that hammer pry bar makes me weak in the knees with MT envy. I was wondering how a paint opener could be incorporated into a MT and you did it perfectly. I love how you can use the butt to hammer the can back shut too.
But I gotta do that large fork from your bbq pit boss. That's just a show stopper there. Whipping out the MT to flip your perfectly grill marked t-bone. That's what's up!!!

How do you make the double awl? Is that something that a knife-smith/cutlery store could do? Any more info is appreciated.

I'd love to see you throw a oyster knife in that pit boss.

    Thanks Lowindo!

The 2nd awl was made from the larger flat bit, carefully and slowly ground down on my small belt sander, matching the profile of the existing awl on the Core. I mean SLOW as not to ruin or burn the steel.
Then take off the burrs and polish on my polishing wheel.

The PitBoss was a contest I held during the summer at MTO, "you think it, I build it". There some CRAZY but good ideas...there are some that I want to make still. The Timekeeper, The Skiverman...so many

Anyone think it would be possible to swap the knife in a Leatherman skeletool to a mini prybar?

Not sure if prying on the leatherman pivot would be healthy for the tool? unless your only doing light pry work?

Tried it on a Wave, although the bar locked up, the stress on the pivots on even a light pry job was enough to tweak the pivot. That was a factor of the pry bar being D2 tool steel, harder than the pivots.

Quick question for the mod guys. Is it possible to EASILY (no major metal working) remove a bit driver from a Skeletool or similar LM and add it to a LM without the driver like the Wingman?

It comes down to the pivot size, which I am pretty sure is the same. ALso the locking mechanism, which the Wingman has none for the inside tools.

I would doubt that it would work.

Mate I still think that's the most beautiful MT I've seen.

    My humble MT mods are:

Kick with added scissors and saw.

Fuse with scissors replaced with a file.

Tweaked PST II, replaced CE blade with a plain edge and added some slip washer to stop clumping.

After seeing metropolicity's bbq pit boss I had to have that bbq fork on my charge. But I didn't want to take mine apart or give up or modify any tools. So I figured I coud make a fork that would fit into the bit adaper. I knew I wanted a 2 prong stainless steel fork that would fit into my sheath and/or a skinth pentapocket and these appetizer forks fit the bill. I just had to fold over the end and do some minimal grinding on my bench grinder.

    And wah lah

Fork and bbq fork. Its exactly what I was looking for.
