Same here, it lives in a belt sheath in my outdoor pants

Probably never going into the city again, so I should try a belt sheath with a beater and see what happens?

Guess it depends on which city you get forced to visit. I live in the suburbs of Metro DC; but I end up in Fairfax City often enough. I have a few knives (mostly Buck 110 and 112) that really are only practical with the belt sheath; I wear them around here in the burbs, into Fairfax, etc. Probably just a function of this location, but never had any issues arise.

I would push that my friend but its NYC. My 110 has my initials in the brass hand done by my Master Chief while enjoying adult beverages. My 112 I carried almost 20 years so I dont want to chance it out of my neighborhood

Don't blame you one bit. When I get forced (and I mean that!) to go to any part of NYC, I just stick a SAK in my pocket. Not even an ALOX. Sort of counting on the recognition factor... I wouldn't want that 110 or 112 out of my sight if I were you either!

SAK seems to have the "harmless" factor going for it.

I was opening packages at the club and a lady said, Oh a Boy Scout knife, were you in with my brother?
...was a red celi SAK Spartan...
Now, my 550 Benchmade might have caused a different reaction!

When I was flying back & forth from Dallas to San Antonio in the very early eighties, I had a flight attendant check with the pilot about a Case pocket knife I was carrying because it had a blade lock on it. She obviously didn't know the difference between a "switch" blade (then illegal in Texas) and a "lock" blade. The pilot knew the difference, luckily for me. To any of our younger brethren & sistren reading this: Knives were allowed on U.S. domestic flights at that point in time. Had it been a non-locking Old-Timer or Schrade, (or SAK), she wouldn't have questioned it at all.

Yeah. But mine is not usually a 'little' one. Usually at least a Huntsman or Tinker size... But most non-knife folks just see the red handle and maybe the Swiss shield. Add the slow, two handed opening due to multiple 'blades/tools'. Seems to work ok with the snowflakes...

    LOL.

Just about 3 months before 9/11, I flew up to Boston to see a colleague. In my briefcase were a Buck 110 and a sorta heavy S&W 'SWAT' (that was the brand... LE for millennium.. no longer have it). Both substantial knives, both locking. No problem at either end with airport security. Those were the days my friend!
