    If you ever read any of the old Hardy Boys mystery books, you'll find the answer. Basically for the reasons you would normally need a magnifying glass. Age tends to have negative effects on eyesight!

    I see that you already have a lot of answers but I will give mine too.

    I usually use the magnifier to look at small print when light aren't that good, insects and a lot of other stuff I find when the eyes don't do the trick. I have good sights but there are still small stuff and it's a fun gizmo when playing detective with the kids

    But mostly insects and stuff in nature

    Glad you are liking it. The Pioneer X is a nice useful tool that is still thin enough for pocketing.

    I call it expedition and it's my first mod, there is an alox version too and they are build for family trips in the woods as well as around the house
