@DDG.2: interesting specimen. Never seen a SAK handle like that; nor a SAK blade with that pattern on it. Not exactly Damascus is it? But then what is it?

It's one of a series of national park designs. They can be had at REI, some other online retailers and eBay. I may just have to get them all!

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted. Here is my trusted soldier. I've had it some 15 years I think. Mine does not have the keyring hole, so I'm always padding my front pocket [IMG]

Yes... yours is the pre-hook version. The hook was only introduced in 1991 as the backtool on scissors layer...

    http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Hook

Victorinox doesn't distinguish models based on whether it has a hook or not... It will be a different model if it has a phillips instead of cork screw... Then it is a Super Tinker.

And judging by the blade tang stamp, grooved cork screw and pivot screw on scissors, yours is produced between 85-91...

@DDG.2: Thanks. No wonder I'd never seen anything like it! Long before I was even conscious of SAK!
