I want to swap out my knife for a multitool as my EDC blade but to make the swap I need it to do a few things.

    Pliers (preferably spring loaded)
    Scissors
    Phillips screw driver
    Flat screw driver
    Locking blade
    Side clip

The LM Sidekick is close but no scissors. I carried my sons for a day and with he side clip it rides in the 5th pocket of my jeans perfectly.

Does the Leatherman Surge have the ability to accomodate a clip? The pliers aren't spring loaded though.

I clip on a Kershaw Leek and then sometimes carry a LM Juice S2. It fulfills my tool/scissor needs quite well. Together no space is really used up.

The Wingman has all of that. It has the same form factor as the Sidekick. AND it's less than 20 bucks on Amazon currently.

You have to purchase the pocket clip for the Surge separately, right? How secure of a fit is it?

Any worries of it actually coming disconnected? I tend to put things with a pocket clip on the inside of my waist band instead of a pocket.

Uh it would make me a little nervous clipping it to my belt... I always clip things inside my pocket.

The Surge looks good but the added weight is a little too much for how I want to carry it. I didn't think of the Wingman initially as I have it stuck in my head that the knifeless version of the Wingman is the only version of the Wingman.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

Now I have to go shopping!

I don't think there's a production version of the Wingman without the blade on it. Are you thinking of the Fuse?

I think it must have been a version where the owner removed the blade to conform to TSA rules. The urbanprepper made refernece to hs bladeless Wingman in his youtube video and I had it stuck in my head

Oh, yeah, probably. Wingmans are insanely easy to remove the components of. A lot of people tend to do mods on them. Either way, it's an awesome tool for the price.
