I prefer a blacked out rear and illumination on the front only, much faster and easier to concentrate where I should. I have several different guns set up with different sights, but my favorite are 10-8 Performance wide U notch rear and a brass bead front on my G23. They do make front sights in fiber optic and tritium also; I chose a brass bead front for durability and the fact that it will never go dim or need replacing.
model tg131mpty. They have yellow rear fiber, and green front....and man does that green shine. ...and to be completely fair, I put them on a S&W SD9VE, which uses the same sights as an M&P.
I have TruGlo TFO sights on four M&P pistols, including my 9mm Shield. Supposedly the sights aren't made for the Shield because the rear sights stick out a little bit, but it's totally unnoticeable. I have the green on green model. These work extremely well for me.
Would you mind taking a couple pics? I'd love to see your shield setup .. If you don't mind of course
This is a great setup. I'm really impressed with the 10-8 rear sight. While I'm not a huge fan of the U-Notch, they did a great job of rounding off the corners of the sight. Has anyone tried the 10-8 rear with the XS front? Seems like a fast combo and easier to teach new shooters.
