Anyone use a stainless steel Sharpie? I lost mine a few weeks ago and went to Wal-mart to get a replacement, but they no longer carried them. Have they been discontinued?

I got mine on the bay, I try to stay away from the Evil Empire.
BTW, I love my SS Sharpie.

I picked one up at the local Walgreens this past Thursday. I didn't see any ink replacements though.

I'll have to check over there then. I found a refill on clearance at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago, so I'm set from that persepctive.

I would buy it if I didn't have a stock of sharpies from a costco pack.

What's the advantage of the SS Sharpie over the regular disposable kind?

Oh, and Office Depot in the Memphis area still carries the SS Sharpie and refills for it as of last week when I was there.

One advantage is that it takes refills. It being SS is just a plus. If there were plastic body refillable Sharpies, I would have bought that. I personally like the way the fine point Sharpies write.

Anyone get a good measurement for me? I'm wanting to cut one down for a mini sized sharpie to go with my other minis.

The Stainless Steel Sharpie is still visible on sharpie.com, so I'm guessing that some retailers are not stocking them but that they're still being made.

I bought mine along with a few refills at Wal-Mart. That particular item might have been dropped from Sanford, not from their product line but dropped from what they sell to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart demands that a supplier supply more product for less money as the years wear on through the contract and the Stainless Steel Sharpie was a very nice product and Sanford may have decided that they don't want to take a loss on that one item.

Google for, "the man who said no to wal mart" and you will read a great story about the guy that owned Snapper Lawnmowers at one time and then you will understand how things like this can happen, assuming this is what happened.

Just posting to say I love these things. Have a pic of mine posted in the EDC pics thread of intro area, along with my other work stuff.

Coworkers can sometimes find me by following the sweet smell (stench to them) of the Sharpie. Unfortunately I'm down to my last one, they usually last me a good six months apiece but I lost one last week, sniff.

Been having the same problem with locating them. Found a few shops on Amazon that list them, but about half are the new plastic bodied non-hair singeing ones. Oh, refills? Will have to check that out, thanks for link!

EDIT: Oh, mine are different ones. Metal body but not that fancy. Can stomp on 'em and all manner of abuse. Wonder if that one smells the same. Where may I smell one in person?

I have a friend who works at Newell Rubbermaid (who distributes Sharpie here in Canada) looking into these suckers for me. If I magically end up with a box of them, I'll post back. Wish me luck.

I ended up finding my old one under my bed, so I didn't keep looking for any more.

I can't find refills or the metal sharpies anymore. I used to see them a lot but I can't find them locally.
