:lolhammer: Ok I'll agree I'm not always the brightest bulb in the pack! But I seem to recall, last year I think, that you had a survey about an EDC sew on patch. I've been looking & I can't seem to find if you have one & if so where can I get one. What's driving this train is I just got my new Maxpedition Fat Boy & need some patch's for it so if you could help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hmm, I for one wouldn't mind a nice EDC forum patch to sow on/velcro on to some of my gear. Might even come up with a few design suggestions...

I think the "powers that be" here on the forum put the kibosh on the patch plan....I know GreenLED put a lot of time into it....

He inspired me to have some of my own patches made up.....and I did a small number with velcro backing....

I too would really like to see an EDCF patch....

I'd be interested, maybe there could be a group buy? There's plenty of companies out there that will embroider
logos onto patches? Couldn't it help out EDCF? $$$ Fundraiser $$$ ?
    just thoughts,
    -G.ears

I have some Illustrator skillz that I would volunteer, if you need some vector art created for said logo?
Also with the EDC credo underneath...
    again just thoughts.....

The perfect logo already exists. Look at the top left of every page on these forums.

And LZ, seriously, what's a guy gotta pay to get a hook and loop LZ patch???

Yes, yes, and yes. IIRC, I sent Jon the info when I left the mod team.

LZ, your patches look really nice, BTW.

No one has put the kibosh on these yet.

I have been a bit hesitant to do it however. The T-Shirt deal ended up being a money looser due to how long they sat. There has not been money to do the patchs as well. I can do them but cannot afford to have capital tied up in them for too long. I cannot ever again take money needed for the forum and gamble it on product again. If things do not pan out that is the end of the forum. If they will move and when I can afford to do it I will do it.

How about prepay? Make a list of those interested, once the minimum number has been exceeded, start collecting cash from them until the minimum amount has again been exceeded (there will always be some who bail), add a closing date and, once it has passed, send the cash off to the manufacturer for production. That way you have no cash tied up, just some time, and the forum earns interest while the cash sits in an account.

    Thanks LZ,

I am sorry if this is a silly question but what is the appeal of patchs?

 That's not a silly question at all....but it is kind of like when people ask you what the appeal is to having 2 dozen flashlights, or knives with a combined worth equal to a small car.
Some folk, myself included, just like to collect them...lots of gear comes with a velcro patch so you can slap on your favorite patches and swap them out the same way you change up your EDC light or knife or whatever....and they are usually reasonably priced compared to most collectibles...

Jon, PM is headed your way with info on where I had mine done....
