After way too long of not having a Seiko in my collection, this landed on my wrist in time for Father's Day. I am extremely impressed with the build, fit and finish of this Pepsi BFK. This one checked a lot of open boxes for me. Seiko. Kinetic movement. Pepsi bezel. Happy Father's day to all the dad's out there.
Seiko make good watches at a reasonable price, I've been very happy with the ones I've had over the years.
I have that exact model for about 5 years now. It is my absolute favorite watch. It hasn't missed a beat and is the watch I wear every day. Enjoy!
My first image post! Had to show off my new watch Had it for a few weeks now and I've been trying out the inside wrist style and I'm loving it so far.
I'd love to have the SBDC Sumo in black ore blue one day. Seiko's are really nice, but for the moment, I'm happy with my Orient Deep (which is part of the Seiko company, if I'm not mistaken). Nice watches in this thread so far!
Seiko is in fact 52% owners (I think) of Orient. I have/had several Orient's as well. Amazingly affordable quality movements.
Quite happy with Seiko's here too. SARG005 SKX007 on a Super Engineer II bracelet: And I also dig the Orient line... My dresswatch, Bambino 3rd Gen:
Sweeperdk, I've been lusting over that SARG005 for some time now. Sadly, I've run out of wrists for the moment. The left wrist holds a Garmin Fenix 3 and the right wrist holds a Fitbit ChargeHR. Some would say these devices overlap and they'd be correct. But I use them in a complementary fashion. The Fitbit's overall software and data collection solution blows away anything else. And the Garmin gives me notifications from my iPhone Still, I want that SARG005!
lack of vintage seiko in here how about my vintage 6138-3002 aka the "jumbo" from about 1977 on the original bracelet jumbo 2 by mrsleeve, on Flickr How about a little SARG action watch 2 by mrsleeve, on Flickr And how about a look "THROUGH" my actual SARG WATCH by mrsleeve, on Flickr
SNA411 - Worn for a number of years, but replaced with a Suunto Core. A little to heavy for my daily wear, so it's now reserved for my "dress-up" days. Great watch though.
No idea of the model, bought it Hong Kong about 8yrs ago, I even took it to get the battery changed after I didn't wear it for a while, the guy in the shop just looked at me and said " you spanner it's an auto" he shook it and it started working again then I got it out a few weeks ago to give it a shake and the straps had perished. Well apart from that...great watch lol.
Your watch is the Seiko SKX781, better known as the "Orange Monster". It is the first generation of this venerable watch. You can easily obtain a replacement OEM strap or bracelet through eB*y, amazon.com, or your favorite internet vendor. The Orange Monster also lends itself to tons of aftermarket straps and bracelets. Mine says,"Hi."
The SKX781 is the first generation Orange Monster. The SRP309 is the second generation Orange Monster.
