I came across this today and decided I will definitely be getting one. I have been looking for a cash stash tube for a while but didn't like the looks of most. If the wire gate has enough spring in it, this looks like a real winner to me!

Looks like good value for $8.

I'd love to see it in the forum store.

They had a decent product but I'm not sold on the gate to secure it to my pants, keys, etc. Also I don't like the idea of the bottle opener. But hey that just my thought.

I scratch my head any time something has packaging that just says that it's made of "Solid Metal". That's like buying a can of "Potted Meat Product". I know the website says it's aluminum, but the packaging doesn't. And that would make me laugh if I saw it in a store.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the gate would suffice or not. In my case I would just use it as a cash stash that would remain on my keys. The bottle opener would not be used so if the gate was finicky, I would just slide a small piece of heat shrink tubing over it to ensure it stays closed.

While not practical for belt loop duty, if you used it for bag duty or on a keychain, you could heat shrink the gate closed. I did as much on the key side of the s-biner I carry my keys on. Never had an issue with things falling off like so many others have, but I erred on the side of caution.

I sent them an e-mail to see if I could get an idea of when it will be available. I will keep you posted here when/if I hear back from them :)

When it's available I'll probably buy one. There are also several other tools on there that look interesting, such as the one with the knife.

Probably just stick with the pill fob I already have. Does the job just fine. Wouldn't be thrilled by the wire gate anyway.

If the wire gate had failed when I went looking for last ditch/holdout cash, I would be livid beyond words.

Without the wire gate it would have been about 1/4-1/3 shorter judging by the pics. Nix the bottle opener on every piece of gear already.

Just thought I would give you guys a little update. I received a reply e-mail from screwpop and they informed me that the travel stash will be available some time in the next 4 months. Not sure why such a big window of time but whatever I guess. Hopefully I can remember I am interested in it by then lol.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say I really dislike the built-in carabiner clip. The fixed clip makes it much longer and makes it more awkward to deal with. The wire gate is potentially flimsy, and anybody who knows that the word EDC means is already knee deep in bottle openers.

As the Screwpop items become available I will have them with the forum logo. The first will be the magnetic Screwpop. It will be about two weeks.

The other items might be close to the end of the year according to Screwpop.

How about the screwpop wallet? I mean on it's own it's cool, but with the EDCF logo it instantly turns awesome! Extremely minimal and a way to proudly represent EDCF.
