Full disclosure, I'm a Renn Faire dork. I switch between some elaborate costumes, or a casual Scottish outfit with my clan colors. I usually use a sporran pouch for every outfit to carry basic gear, but lately realizing my fantastic Saddleback wallet is just too big to justify carrying around in a small leather waist pouch. Accordingly, I just carry my ID, a credit card, some bills, and a few business cards in a velcro pocket on the outside of my sporran pouch. This quickly has become chaos. Bills wadding up in half, credit card falling out, business cards in the way...I need a thin, minimalistic wallet that can slide into this outer pocket and keep things somewhat organized. Affordable as possible please, color and appearance does not matter because of it being an internal organizer.

Head to a shopping mall and if they have a Wilson's Leather Goods, check it out. I some time ago picked up a VERY slim leather card case. Two slots on each side. that will each hold possibly two credit cards. Center 'pocket' that will hold a few currency bills comfortably. Don't recall what I paid but I think it was $25 or less.

You could also check a luggage store in said mall. Those that carry briefcases etc usually also have some wallets as well as a card case of the type I've described.

Nice thing about being in an actual store is you can 'test' the item to see if you like how it holds the cards...! This is actually more important than you might expect -- I went through a couple of on-line orders that upon receipt were obviously unacceptable for my purposes.

I use mine for certain days when I have to minimize what I have instead of my usual bifold wallet.

    Hope this is helpful.

    L'chaim!

You mentioned Saddleback, have you considered their front pocket wallet.

I'm rather partial to the triHold wallet. It small, holds quite a bit plus some bills and yet still rather compact.

Check out the Craft & Lore Insider Wallet. It’s minimal without being too minimal. If you don’t deal with much cash their Port Wallet is a nice bit of kit.

The most compact front pocket wallet and I have ever used was the leather Dash minimalist wallet (in the horizontal configuration).

It is very compact and lays very flat. It has three separate areas that barely add any bulk.

Do you prefer a bi-fold or would you want a card holder? Does it have to carry cash or would you be willing to use a money clip in addition to a card holder? Do you have a material preference? How sturdy does it need to be?

There are so very many minimalist wallets out there.

I'm currently using a flowfold vanguard wallet with 5-6 cards and cash it's still superbly thin but the overall footprint is still standard size (about 3.25" x 4.25"). A close contender for me was the Slimfold Micro softshell wallet, it has a smaller footprint (2.875" x 4.063").

Saddleback does a card sleeve (one slot) if you can deal with all your cards stuffed together and cash either loose or money clipped.

There are the multitude of multi-slot card sleeves, such as the one above. I've considered grabbing a Magpul Daka Essential wallet, you may like the everyday version better if you prefer an ID window/slot.

If you're not worried about wear and tear, the light weight stuff such as the urban ultralight butterfly wallet (tri fold) or the mountain laurel designs wallet (bi fold). Very thin and light but not the most robust. Plus both are cheap, around $15 IIRC.

    Not cheap but good https://bellroy.com/products/category/mens-wallets

Bought the Card Pocket and I’m really happy with it. Usually I take only three or four coins with me, for “emergencies”. Several cards and about three to five (?) banknotes. Instead of a micro SIM I carry an Apple SIM card tool. Perfect.

I've been using a Tumi card case for almost a year now. And I love it. It has an ID window for my driver's license. in that compartment I also carry vehicle registrations for 2 cars, NJ insurance cards for 2 cars. I carry a single credit card, which sits in an RFID compartment, a debit card and the last pocket holds medical insurance cards. The card sleeve opens in the center where I keep several bills.

    looks very similar to this:

I've used Saddleback,Magpul, other Tumi small wallets. For me, this Tumi is the best wallet I've ever had. Sits in my LH front pocket and it's easy to access anything contained in it. And it hols up VERY well. Tumi makes excellent products.

I've been carrying an EZ-GO Original wallet everyday for 18 months or so and hands down, it's the best wallet I ever had. No issues and keeps all I need in a small neat package. For $22 best investment I've made in a wallet.

I've always been tempted to give one of those a try. I do use cash fairly often, though, and I just wonder if that center section would be functional for me.

I use cash quite often also and it's easy to get in and out and even if you only have 1 bill in their, it will not fall out.. Friction between the bill and the sides keeps it in there.

Amazing little wallet really. I love it. No sign of wear and if it ever does, I'm definitely buying another.

Coins are a problem with this wallet and really any wallet that I would tend to carry.

That’s why use the Bellroy. Three coins for “Emergencies” (bathrooms, vending machines ask) are enough but needed.
