I ordered some of the Coverking tactical seat covers from Autoanything. Not sure if they are cheaper, but look better built and you can get the colors you want. I ordered slate grey to match my interior.

I received my Coverking tactical seat covers last night, installed them this morning. I'm less than impressed with the fit. They fit as though they were made for another truck... I ordered slate gray to match my truck, they sent me charcoal gray (near black).

You could try a cheap airsoft plate carrier, either hang it from the headrest mount or slip it over the seat back (but that may be uncomfortable).
