I am looking for and have found what i think will be a perfect EDC knife for me. Ill update this when it comes in, but lets see if y'all can guess it.

I am looking for it to have the following features:
    • small/light ~ 2.75"-3" blade
    • 1-hand operation
    • saber grind
    • thin handle
    • plain edge
    • locking mechanism
    • pocket clip
    • $100 or less
Here is what I have and my thoughts on each:

Spyderco Endura serrated edge - too big, don't like full serrated edge. I keep it in the truck
Spyderco Rescue - too big, don't like full serrated edge. I keep it in my Camelback
SOG Sogzilla - just a little too big otherwise I love it. Cheap enough that i don't mind really using it
Benchmade mini-ambush - almost right, handle is a bit thick
Benchmade Griptilian - too big for EDC to work, OK on weekends
Benchmade Mini Pika - not bad but sticky action and this one has a combo edge
CRKT M16-13ZE - spear point seems weak and thin, handle is way too thick for EDC
CRKT KISS ASSist Tanto - uncomfortable to wear and use
CRKT PECK - I like it for work since it is so small, but it is not useful for much beyond opening boxes
CRKT Kommer 30-30 - A little big and heavy. No clip.
CASE Stockman mid - nice and small. disappears in the pocket. But not as quick to open as a flipper
Buck 704 - same as case stockman

UPDATE: Here is what I decided on:

    Thanks!

Alot of Kershaw's fall into this category. You could go with a Knockout or Camber and on the bigger side a Piston.

You din't say what size you like and how you feel about different steels but even a Sanrenmu 710 would fit into this list.
For $100 your could get like how many, 15? and put one at each place where you could even need one ;)

Definitely a Delica. A saber ground, plain edge VG10 model is in my pocket most days and has been for many years.
Good blade length, good handle to blade ratio (something few companies get right) and meets all your other requirements.

Why saber ground? I have both flat and saber Delicas and always grab the ffg. Honestly the Dfly is my go to edc. Its absolutely perfect. If you get the H1 Dfly, its saber ground because its too difficult to grind the H1 into a FFG.

And you can get the Dfly in VG10, H1, Super blue, and Zdp189. It also comes with a variety of handle materials! Stainless plain, stainless tattoo, G10 with SS liners, FRN in a couple of colors! Its really the best EDC knife for urban/suburban living. I have almost 100 knives, I keep going back to the Dfly. The Delica has become my second favorite, but it too is a fantastic knife. The Dfly's ergos are the best I have ever used. You can get a great grip, and still have amazing control of the tip. I know some people think they need the added length of blade, I have not found that to be the case. The only time I ever needed a longer blade was to cut a bagel in half, and my SAK Pioneer handled that easily.

Gotta throw the Cold Steel Mini Recon into the discussion. Available in clip point, spear point and tanto blade shapes/grinds. Can be bought in many cases for about half of your $100 budget. The Mini Recon has a great size/weight for daily carry... their AUS8A steel is very decent and takes a great edge. And the Andrew Demko TriAd Lock is without peer for lock strength... you'll never have to worry about it not being able to stand up to whatever you throw at it.

So I decided on Cabela's Mini-Grip in D2 steel. $99 and I had a coupon for free shipping. It seems to fix everything I didn't like about the mini-ambush.

I was very close to going with a Delica. :)
