    Hello,
as all you guess I need advice for a new EDC knife :)
    The main requirements would be:
    1. Price - Max ~170$ (in US).
    2. Good cutting performance (not to thick blade stock, good grind and so on
    :D)
    3. It should have a good steal, not lower class than 154cm or VG-10.
    4. Blade about 3,5 inch (can be a bit longer)
    5. Pocket clip is a must.
    6. No assisted opening, or it has to have an ability to get it removed (for
    example Kershaw BLUR).
    7. Plain edge, no recurve.
    8. One hand opening and closing.
    9. It should have a cool factor, and I like to just play with my knives to relax, so if it's the frame lock knive it should be carbidized or with steel insert :)

It will be my last knife for ~1 year, so it's hard decision for me to take
    alone :D
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or opinions :)

    EDIT: I already have PM2 :)

P.S. I would like to hear opinions on Spyderco Gayle Bradley

Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or Manix 2 lightweight. Both are awesome.

I was gonna say get 2 different color Enduras. For 170 you can get An Endura in green, an Endura in Brown, and an Ambitious and a Kiwi! Or One Endura, A Salt, and a Manbug! Then you have big knife/ water knife/ dress knife covered!

for 170, you can get a kershaw skyline, CRKT swindle (both in the 50.00 range), and another knife. so that's 3 knives for the rest of the year!

The one hand open/close and premium steel stood out to me the most, so I'll second a PM2 (sprint if you can) or Manix2 (sprint as well?) or Benchmade Grip (D2 maybe?) or my personal fave, a ZT0550 with S35VN.

I already have PM2, and I just can't fall in love with it ;( Manix 2 sprint run is to complicated to get in apropriate price :(
I also thought about Griptilian and ZT 0550 gen 2. But what about lock rock and lock bar wear on zt ? And do it ut, or it's only a sharpened prybar ? :D

I thought the obvious choice was a para 2 especially at a 3.5" blade length. What don't you like about it?

check out the benchmade 940. Awesomeness! And in your range. It's light nimble and a killer long blade, and its quite a looker.

I have 6 0550s and 5 0551s. No lock rock on any of them and every one came laser sharp out of the box. Sharpened prybar is more of a compliment in their case than an insult ;)

Nice, a lot of examples :) Have any of those 0550 where on your EDC rotation ? or have about 3000 open/close cycles ? If yes did they develop any lock rock ?
Being sharp and being good cutter is two diferent things, so does 0550 cut well, for examples card boxes or wood ?
About prybar it wasn't an insult, sorry if you understood it like this :(

I'd say a Southard, but it's out of your price range.

Of the 0550s, yes one is currently in EDC rotation and has opened probably more than the 3000 and no lock rock. I will cut small branches, cardboard, steaks, radiator hoses, anything with it. No insult on the prybar, I like the name! :)

    Nice :)
last 2 questions and I think I will buy ZT 0550.
After so much use, how far the lock bar moved ? And is it gen1 or gen2 ? :)

+1 on Para2 plus you can get a Kershaw Skyline in addition to it for your price range. The Skyline will absolutely disappear in any pocket the Para2 might be too big for. :)

I'd recommend a Benchmade Axis lock. I love that lock and the action. There are plenty available in your price range. My favorite is the 710, but if you want something smaller the 940 is a great knife. There are plenty of other designs as well if there's one you like better.
