I've seen a lot of pictures on this forum of flat, 1/4" screwdriver bit set holders, but my Google fu must not be very strong because I can not find them anywhere.

I'm looking for just a flat, plastic bit holder for 6-8 1/4" hex drive screwdriver bits. Similar to what the Leatherman bit sets come in but for regular interchangeable bits. I don't even need the bits, I'll populate it myself, but if it comes with an assortment, so be it.

    Thanks in advance!

I use a plastic box from GUM tooth floss. Works fine for both Leatherman flat bits and regular hex bits.

I'd buy one if I knew where to

Think he is looking for empty holders to add he's bits to. I don't think I've seen any empty ones, althought I picked up a holder from snap-on that had a magnetic base and held 5 or 6 bits. Also from snap-on a plastic case with lid and a bit holder attachment included with slots for 6 or so bits. Hard to find. Will be watching this thread for ideas.

Victorinox has a flat bit holder for standard 1/4" bits, but it comes with either an L-shaped wrench or a ratcheting wrench. Both models come with six bits, but obviously you can swap them if you prefer some other bits.

Chapman Mfg sells really fine gunsmithing tools, made in USA.....

Google 'em, get the # and call 'em, tell 'em you want to buy the bit 'racks' out of their new Master Kit.

Just bought the whole Master Kit box w/ 6? or 8? 'racks' IIRC, for $16.50 + shipping....got it in 3 days.
Each 'rack' holds 6-8 bits, they snap in/out of the box, are bright Safety Yellow, and that's a good thing in a bag or pack....they are freakinTiny!

    HTH,

Is that a hex key or a 1/4" square drum key?

At times, I've looked for a 1/4"(m) x hex(f) converter for my drum key so I could use it with hex bits. I've only ever seen the opposite, so maybe I need to cave and get a hex key.

EDIT: I did a little research and that looks like a banjo (hex) key.

    I use these 3.
    1. I got as a part of a cheap tool kit but you can find them around (I found a listing that might be perfect for you as you have the bits you need. US $4.50
    2. I got this as a gift for donating blood some 10 years ago. It's my favourite as it holds my modified 1/4 bit driver that fits the Leatherman bit holder and can be used as a wrench for the bit holder on its own. The problem, I can't find another one except as a gift for charter members over at MT.O.
    3. These can be found around here in most hardware stores for about US $6-7. Works great if you need a more force.

Also, I've always dug this photo of 1/4" bit storage that I found when searching for Chapman bits.

A nice rubber injection molded snapy-clicky-magnetic-type handle with a couple extenders under it and my collection of EU/US/safety bits and small-size socket wrenches!

Your #2 is very similar to the Benchmade Blue Box. They also just released the Black Box with a Harley Logo on it.

yes, I know, the first time I saw it I thought Benchmade made a knock-off of my bit holder. ;D As far as I know the Blue Box is around for only a few years(I might be wrong here). I had mine for close to 10 years.

I just popped over to my local guitar store and asked for a banjo key.. He had one! (said it wasn't an item that he normally carries) picked it up for $5

He then noticed my 3 knives and then had to pull out his three! :) He's a bit of a collector as well :)
