I was paying my bill last night at the Sprint store, and I scored a hell of a deal on this tablet, it was the display model and got it out the door for 125.00, and a plan of 2 gig for 29.99 a month.

Now I need a good case for it.

NICE! Thats the tablet I initially wanted, but I wasn't too keen on getting it with a wireless plan.

I currently have Verizon's version of the same tab. Found a cheap silicon skin I put on it for around the house. It fits in the back pocket of a Remora quite nicely. I would prefer a zip up version of a pocket organizer that fit it though.

I have seen an 'unofficial' version of Gingerbread for the VZW tablet. Quite possible there is one for the Sprint. From the reviews, it is a vast improvement. I may try to update mine this weekend.

That's a great deal! You can find info about rooting it (jailbreaking is the Apple term, rooting is the Android term) at the androidcentral.com forums.

I just picked up the Xoom wifi...

It does, but the carriers like to "lock" certain stuff in their products, for example I have a Evo Shift 4G, my carrier charges 10 dollars a month to use it as a hotspot, once i rooted it, i get that for free =]

Until your carrier finds out and slaps you with a fine or something.

Carrier can't really "find" out unless you walk in and show them. As far as they can tell you're just another user with a dataplan. I rooted my Evo 4g and its also setup to be a wireless hotspot, has bailed me out a few times already!

Sadly with the use of DPI,which is becoming more and more prevalent, they can tell if it's your phone or another device using the connection

Or they can simply nix it when the traffic becomes too high, leaving it up to you to take them to court over it.

End result is a war of attrition.

The end result is that your carrier gets to charge you with going over your data plan limits if you are so careless as to exceed them.

My Samsung Galaxy S works just fine as a hotspot using the Cognition ROM and I've never come close to exceeding my data limits. Personally I think that the 7" size is ideal for a tablet. I'm waiting for a Super AMOLED screen though, I don't think that I'll ever be able to go back to LCD.
