almost forgot, saddest a movie has ever made me was power. i dont remmber why, it was a long time ago, but i had to put effort into not crying. i just dont watch sad movies purposly any more
I really enjoy watching "The Road". However my wife says its the saddest movie ever and she'll never watch it again. So.. I don't get to see it often.
Totally agree. I don't want to watch a movie without. If I hear a great movie doesn't have a happy ending I'll skip it. I don't care how good it is. Life's too short. Seriously. I was really surprised. Major downer movie. I read The Road after watch No Country for Old Men. Thought it would fit well with my current infatuation with zombie/EOTW. Saw the movie after reading the book. Your wife is right. The movie was dead on accurate. I don't know why I wanted to watch it in the first place.
Willy, you appear to be a bundle of contradiction wrapped in an enigma. The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds, and the pessimist fears this is true.
Zombies and EOTW doesn't necessarily equal sad. For example I've read a zombie book where they did all the typical zombie stuff and they had a happy ending. I've also read zombie books that have a down right terrible ending. Death and terror isn't sad. I want the good guys to win every time. Don't try to "keep it real". Give me some hugs and smiles at the end!
I thought it more interesting that you wanted to read The Road after watching NCFOM. I LIKE the gloomy stuff, and that was too much for me. The only McCarthy adaptation I want to watch again is The Sunset Limited w/ Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Fantastic movie! You wouldn't like it though, the good guy doesn't win. The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds, and the pessimist fears this is true.
I was so pissed at this movie. The trailers for it made it look like a fun comedy about a wild and crazy dog. NAH. So sad seeing the marriage problems and then the ending. you trailer makers for tricking me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 armaggedon is tough at the end big fish forrest gump the notebook
Read the book never saw the movie.... partially because after reading the book, I felt that the it was poorly cast purely for the sake of "star power." If it was anything like the book, I knew the trailers were totally misleading. ATB, Sam
I just got finished watching The Impossible, really makes you think about family and the fact it was a True Story based on true events with a real family, hits home. Teared up a good 3 times. Twas a good movie overall, makes you think.
