I have had my spyderco paramilitary 2 for a while and today I noticed a brown mark on my stopping pin. Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem?? It's where the tang of the knife and stopping pin meet. [IMG] sorry for blurry picture.

If it really bothers you the pin can be taken out and polished.

Some preventative measures are to always wipe the knife down when it gets wet/rides in a sweaty pocket, always keep a thin coat of oil on it, and most importantly keep it out of situations where it might get wet.

As it is, it's no big deal. Just keep it oiled from now on to keep the rust from spreading.

Are you certain it's rust? Did you try wiping it out with a Q-tip or anything to make sure it's not an accumulation of grease/lint/whatever?

Ya it's rust or some type of stain... I also keep my blades clean and have no clue how it could rust there since no where else is like that.
